Varikka's face is flushed with exertion as she stands on the narrow ledge, her injured ankle throbbing in agony. Elric offers her a steady hand, helping her to maintain her balance. Merrin scans the area, her eyes darting back and forth between the fast-moving river below and the unstable tunnel ahead. The Guardian's ominous roar echoes through the chamber, its glow shining through the darkness like a beacon of doom. As they prepare to move forward, the ground beneath their feet shudders violently, sending sparks flying from the walls. A section of the tunnel collapses, sending a cloud of dust and debris swirling into the air. The party is momentarily blinded, but they quickly regroup, their eyes adjusting to the darkness. Elric fumbles for his torch, casting a flickering glow over the scene. The Guardian's roar grows louder still, its weight pressing down on the stone door behind it. The air seems to vibrate with its fury, and the party can feel the tension building in the tunnel.

I crouch low to the ground, my heart pounding in my chest as I try to steady myself against the trembling of the tunnel walls. The sound of stone crumbling echoes through the air, and I can feel the weight of the collapsing debris pressing down on me from all sides. "Everyone alright?" I ask, my voice tight with concern as I scan the faces of my companions in the flickering torchlight.

Elric nods, his face grim as he clutches his torch tighter, casting a wary eye towards the source of the noise. "I think so," he mutters, his eyes fixed on the shadows beyond the edge of the light. "But we can't stay here. That thing... it's getting closer."

Varikka grunts in pain as she tries to take a step forward, her injured ankle threatening to buckle beneath her weight. She leans heavily against the wall, her face pale and drawn with exhaustion. "I can't..." she pants, her voice hoarse with effort. "I can't go any further like this."

I bite my lip, my mind racing as I try to think of a way out of this nightmare. "Okay," I say, my voice shaking slightly as I reach for my crossbow. "We need to find a way across that river. But we can't risk getting swept away again." I glance around the chamber, my eyes searching for any sign of a path or ledge that might lead us to safety.

Elric nods, his face set with grim determination as he follows my gaze. "There," he says, pointing to a narrow outcropping of stone a few feet ahead. "If we can just make it to that ledge, maybe we can find a way across."

I take a deep breath, steeling myself against the pain in my arms and legs as I prepare to move again. "Alright," I say, my voice tight with concern as I reach for Varikka's arm. "Let's get you up first. Elric, give me a boost."
