Round 863 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Merrin pulls us out of the narrow gap, gasping for breath. We find ourselves in a small, dimly lit chamber, the air thick with dust and the scent of decay. Elric's torch casts flickering shadows on the walls as he examines our surroundings. Varikka stumbles, her splinted ankle throbbing in pain. Elric mutters, "This tunnel's not stable. We need to find a way out before it collapses." He eyes the stone door behind us, where The Guardian's enraged bellows echo through the passageway.
I catch my breath, my heart still racing from our narrow escape. "That was too close," I mutter, wiping water from my eyes. "Varikka, are you alright?"
She nods grimly, though I can see the pain etched on her face. "I'll manage. But we can't stay here long - that thing will be on us soon."
Elric steps forward, his torch casting flickering shadows on the walls of the chamber. "Aye, and this tunnel's not stable. We need to find a way out before it collapses around our ears." He eyes the stone door behind us, where The Guardian's enraged bellows echo through the passageway.
I swallow hard, my throat dry with fear. "Then we'd best be moving," I say, my voice barely above a whisper. "Varikka, can you walk? We'll need to find somewhere safe to rest your ankle."
She nods again, her jaw set with determination. "I can manage. But we'll have to go slow - I don't want to risk another fall."
I glance around the chamber, my eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of danger. "Then let's move out," I say, my hand tightening on the hilt of my dagger. "And pray that whatever lies ahead is better than what we've left behind."
With that, I step forward, my boots crunching on the debris-strewn floor. Elric follows close behind, his torch casting a circle of flickering light before us. And together, we set off into the darkness, our hearts heavy with the knowledge that our true test still lies ahead.
Merrin's tackle saved my life, but now I'm in no shape to fight. My ankle throbs with agony, the splint barely holding it together. I cling to Merrin's arm, my other hand gripping my mace. We need to find a way out of this tunnel before it collapses - or worse, The Guardian catches up. "We can't stay here," I rasp, my voice strained with pain. "Help me to my feet, Merrin. We have to keep moving."
