Round 854 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Varikka's eyes flutter open, her gaze unfocused as she struggles to catch her breath. She lies on the rocky shore, her injured ankle throbbing in agony. Merrin's face is etched with concern as she looks down at Varikka, her hand grasping Varikka's arm tightly. "Elric, help!" Merrin shouts, her voice carrying above the din of the underground river. "Varikka needs to be stabilized!"
Elric's torch flickers, casting an ominous glow on the surrounding rocks as he rushes to their side. His eyes widen as he takes in Varikka's condition, his face set in a determined expression. The Guardian's roar grows louder still, echoing off the walls of the tunnel as it continues to batter against the stone door behind them. The air is thick with the smell of damp earth and the sound of rushing water, making it difficult for the group to focus.
Merrin's strong grip on my arm is the only thing keeping me from being swept away by the churning river. I can barely catch my breath, my lungs burning from the icy water. As Elric's flickering torchlight falls upon us, I manage to croak out:
"Elric... get that door open. Merrin, help me up."
I help Varikka to her feet, my hands gripping her tightly as I try to keep her steady on the slippery rocks. Her injured ankle throbs beneath my touch, and I can see the pain etched across her face.
"Can you walk?" I ask, my voice urgent and filled with concern. "We need to keep moving if we want to survive this."
Varikka nods, gritting her teeth as she tries to put weight on her injured leg. I can see the determination in her eyes, even though every movement causes her agony.
"Elric, get that door open," I shout, my voice carrying over the sound of the rushing water. "We'll keep Varikka stable."
As Elric rushes to comply, I turn my attention back to Varikka, my hands moving quickly to check for any other injuries. The cold water has soaked through our clothes, leaving us both shivering and weak, but there's no time to rest.
"We need to find a way out of here," I mutter, my eyes scanning the tunnel for any sign of an exit. "Before that thing catches up with us."
I can feel the fear rising in my chest once again, the knowledge that we are trapped and outnumbered. But I refuse to let it overwhelm me. No matter how much danger we're in, no matter how dire our situation seems, I'll keep fighting until my last breath. That's the only way we're going to survive this.
