Varikka's injured ankle throbs with pain as she takes a tentative step forward, her weight leaning heavily against Merrin for support. The Guardian's pursuit seems to have paused, but only momentarily - the sound of crumbling stone echoes through the tunnel, growing louder by the second. Elric's torchlight flickers overhead, casting eerie shadows on the pit trap walls. As Varikka takes another step, her foot slips on a patch of slick water, sending her tumbling back onto solid ground.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

Varikka tumbles back onto solid ground as her foot slips on the slick stone, sending shockwaves of pain through her injured ankle. I stumble as her weight shifts suddenly against me, my own balance precarious after the dizzying escape from the pit trap. Elric's torchlight flickers overhead, casting eerie shadows that dance across the damp walls. "Varikka!" I cry out, my voice echoing off the stone. "Are you alright?"

I drop to my knees beside her, my hands moving to steady her shoulders. Her face is pale and drawn, her skin slick with sweat in the torchlight. She meets my gaze, her eyes filled with a mix of pain and determination. "I'm fine," she grunts, pushing herself up into a sitting position. "Just... just need a moment."

I nod, my own breath coming fast and hard as I try to steady myself against the dizziness that threatens to overwhelm me. The headache from the noxious gas exposure pounds at my temples, making it difficult to think clearly. But we can't afford to rest for long. Not with the Guardian still hunting us through these treacherous tunnels. I glance over my shoulder, scanning the darkness for any sign of movement. The sound of crumbling stone echoes through the tunnel, growing louder by the second. I can feel the weight of the earth above us pressing down, threatening to crush us at any moment. "We need to keep moving," I say, my voice strained with effort as I struggle to my feet, supporting Varikka's weight against me. "Can you walk?"

Varikka takes a tentative step forward, wincing in pain as she puts weight on her injured ankle. "I can make it," she says, her voice tight with the effort of holding back a moan. Together, we stumble forward into the darkness, following the flickering light of Elric's torch. The tunnel winds deeper into the earth, the air growing thick and heavy with the weight of the stone above us. Water pools beneath our feet, making the ground slick and treacherous. But we have no choice but to keep moving, to find a way out before it's too late. As we press onward, I can't shake the feeling that something is following us through the tunnels, something ancient and malevolent. The Guardian, perhaps, or some other horror lurking in the depths. But for now, all that matters is survival. We have to keep moving, keep pushing forward, no matter what dangers lie ahead. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever challenges the tower has in store. With Varikka's weight leaning heavily against me and Elric's torch lighting our way, we press on into the unknown, our hearts racing and our breaths coming fast and hard.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

Varikka: [I cry out in pain as Merrin's support slips, my bad ankle twisting under my weight. I collapse onto the cold stone, gasping for breath. Elric's torchlight flickers overhead, casting eerie shadows that dance across the pit trap walls.] "Merrin... Merrin! Help me up, quickly!" [I reach out a hand, my eyes wide with fear as the sound of crumbling stone echoes through the tunnel.] "The Guardian... it's getting closer. We have to move, now!"

[As Merrin steadies me, I take a tentative step forward, wincing in pain as I put weight on my injured ankle. The water sloshes beneath my boots, threatening to send me tumbling back into the pit trap.] "Elric, keep that torch high and steady," [I call out, my voice strained with effort.] "We've got no idea what's down here, so keep your eyes peeled for anything that looks like trouble."

[With Merrin's support, I stumble forward into the darkness, my heart racing in my chest. The tunnel winds deeper into the earth, the air growing thick and heavy with the weight of the stone above us.] "Merrin, we need to find a way out of these tunnels," [I pant, my breath coming fast and hard.] "Before they collapse completely. And before that Guardian catches up to us."

[I glance over my shoulder, scanning the darkness for any sign of movement.] "Elric, how much further do you think it is?" [I ask, my voice tight with urgency.] "To the exit, I mean. We can't keep running like this forever."

[As we press onward, I can feel the pain in my ankle throbbing with each step, but I force myself to push through it. There's no time to rest, not with the Guardian still hunting us through these treacherous tunnels.] "Merrin, I owe you one," [I mutter, my teeth gritted against the pain.] "For saving my life back there. But we're far from clear of danger yet. Stay sharp."

[I tighten my grip on Merrin's arm, using her for support as we navigate the narrow tunnel. The sound of crumbling stone echoes through the darkness, growing louder by the second.] "We need to keep moving," [I say, my voice strained with effort.] "Can't let our guard down, not for a moment. Not until we're out of this godsforsaken place."
