As we press forward, the tunnel's walls seem to close in around us. Elric's torchlight casts eerie shadows on the stone, making it difficult to see more than a few feet ahead. Suddenly, the ground gives way beneath Varikka, sending her tumbling into a hidden pit trap. The sound of rushing water echoes through the tunnel as the water rises, threatening to engulf us. Varikka's ankle throbs with pain as she cries out in agony. Elric rushes forward, his torch held high, but there's no room for him to get to her. The air is thick with dust and the smell of decay. I can feel the weight of the stone above us, pressing down on our heads. Varikka's eyes lock onto mine, filled with a desperate plea. "Merrin," she says, her voice barely audible over the rising water. "Can you... can you get me out of here?"

I gasp as Varikka disappears into the pit trap, her agonized cry echoing through the tunnel. Without hesitation, I drop my pack and dive forward, reaching out with both hands. "Varikka! Take my hand, quickly!"

My fingers brush against hers as the water surges around us, cold and unforgiving. I dig my feet into the slippery stone, trying to find some kind of leverage. Elric's torchlight flickers overhead, casting eerie shadows on the walls. "Elric, throw me that rope!" I shout, my voice strained with effort. "Varikka, you've got to climb! I can't hold us both!"

The water rises around us, threatening to pull us under. Varikka's fingers slip in my grasp, and I grit my teeth, determined not to let her go. My muscles burn with the strain of keeping us both afloat, but I know we have no choice. "Come on, Varikka!" I yell, my voice echoing off the stone walls. "We've got to move! Elric, hurry!"

The rope lands beside me, and I grab it with my free hand, looping it around my waist. "Varikka, wrap this around your arm!" I call out, my words barely audible over the rushing water. I can feel the weight of the stone above us pressing down, the air thick with dust and the smell of decay. But all that matters right now is getting Varikka out of this pit trap and back to solid ground.
