Round 836 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As we continue down the tunnel, Varikka's ankle gives way with a loud crack. I catch her by the arm, supporting her weight as she struggles to stand. "Easy there!" I call out, my voice echoing off the damp stone walls. The ground beneath us is slick with water, and I can feel the instability of the tunnel growing more pronounced with each step. Elric's torchlight casts eerie shadows on the walls, making it difficult to see more than a few feet ahead. Suddenly, a loud rumbling sound echoes through the tunnel, causing the ground to shake violently. The water rushes in, threatening to engulf us. I glance around, trying to get my bearings. The tunnel seems to wind deeper into the earth, away from the collapsing chamber above, but I can see a faint light in the distance. "It's that way," I say, pointing towards the light. "We need to move now, before the tunnel collapses completely."
Varikka looks at me, her eyes filled with fear and determination. "I can make it," she says, her voice barely above a whisper. "But we need to hurry."
I grit my teeth against the pain as Merrin steadies me, my ankle throbbing with every movement. The tunnel walls seem to press in on us from all sides, and I can feel the weight of the stone above my head. "I can make it," I say, my voice strained but determined. "But we need to hurry."
Elric's torchlight flickers, casting eerie shadows on the walls. I can see the fear in his eyes, but there's also a glimmer of hope. "There's a light up ahead," he says, pointing towards the distant glow. "It might be another way out."
I nod, my hand instinctively moving to the hilt of my mace. The metal is cold and familiar in my grip, a reminder of all the battles I've fought. And I know that this fight isn't over yet. "Stay close," I say, my voice low and urgent. "And watch each other's backs."
I take a deep breath, steeling myself for the pain to come. The tunnel is narrow and treacherous, but I know we have no choice but to push forward. With Merrin's help, I take a step forward, my bad ankle protesting with every movement. But I don't let it stop me. "Come on," I say, my voice a low growl. "We've got a sword to find, and a tower to escape. Let's move."
I catch Varikka's arm as she stumbles, supporting her weight. "Varikka, your ankle! How bad is it? Can you put any weight on it at all?"
The tunnel walls press in around us, slick with water and debris. Elric's torchlight flickers, casting eerie shadows that dance across the stone. I can feel the weight of the earth above pressing down on us, threatening to crush us at any moment. "Easy there," I call out, my voice echoing off the damp walls. "Varikka, how bad is it? Can you put any weight on that ankle?"
I glance around, trying to get my bearings. The tunnel seems to wind deeper into the earth, away from the collapsing chamber above. But I can see a faint light in the distance, and I know we need to move quickly if we want to escape this place alive. "Stay close," I say, my voice low and urgent. "And watch each other's backs. Elric, keep that torch high and steady. We've got no idea what's down here, so keep your eyes peeled for anything that looks like trouble."
I move forward, my hand on the rough, wet stone. The Time-Splitting Sword presses against my back, a constant reminder of what we're fighting for. But right now, survival is the only thing that matters. "Varikka, can you make it?" I ask, my voice filled with concern. "We need to hurry, before the tunnel collapses completely."
