Round 833 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As we navigate towards the narrow tunnel entrance, Varikka's injured ankle protests with every jolt, making it harder for her to move. Elric's torch casts eerie shadows on the walls, and I can feel the wooden slats of the boat creaking under the strain. Suddenly, a loud crack echoes through the chamber, and the current surges forward, threatening to capsize us. The boat lurches violently, and I grab onto the edge for dear life as Varikka's weight shifts, putting her ankle at risk of being pulled overboard. The tunnel entrance looms ahead, partially hidden by the darkness. We're running out of time - if we don't find solid ground soon, we'll be swept away by the rising floodwaters. "Merrin, help me!" Varikka cries out, her voice laced with pain as she struggles to keep her footing. "I'm going to fall!"
"Elric, Varikka - listen up!" I shout over the roar of the floodwaters. "The tunnel's our only chance! Varikka, grab my hand - we're going to haul you to safety." I lock eyes with Elric, my gaze steely with resolve. "Keep that torch high and steady, got it? We need light to navigate this mess."
I brace myself against the rocking boat, reaching out for Varikka as I try to keep my balance. "Varikka, on the count of three - one, two..." I grip her hand tightly, bracing for the effort. "...three!" With a grunt, I pull with all my might, using the momentum to haul her towards the center of the boat. The boat rocks dangerously, but I don't let go. "Now, Elric - get us in that tunnel before we're swept away!" I call out, my voice barely audible over the roar of the water. "Varikka, try to distribute your weight evenly - we need to keep this thing afloat." I can feel the current tugging at the hull, and I know we don't have much time left. But even as I worry about our immediate safety, I can't shake the feeling that this is just the beginning of something much larger. The Time-Splitting Sword pulses against my back, its power a constant reminder of the stakes we're playing for. And as I look at Varikka and Elric, their faces etched with fear and determination, I know that we're in this together - for better or for worse. "Hold on," I call out, my voice strained with effort as I cling to the edge of the boat. "We're going to make it through this." And with that, I reach out once more, my hands grasping for Varikka's in the darkness as we navigate towards the narrow tunnel entrance, our only hope of escape from the rising floodwaters.
I grunt in pain as Merrin hauls me towards the center of the boat, my injured ankle protesting with every jolt. The wooden slats creak ominously beneath us, and I know we're running out of time before the floodwaters sweep us away entirely. "Elric, get us into that tunnel!" I shout over the roar of the water, my voice strained with effort. "Merrin, keep steady on the other side - we need to distribute our weight evenly!"
As the boat rocks dangerously, I reach out with my free hand, trying to grab onto something solid. My fingers brush against the rough stone of the tunnel entrance, and I feel a glimmer of hope. "We're almost there," I call out, my voice barely audible above the rush of water. "Just a little further!"
