As Merrin settles into the boat, Varikka stumbles forward, her injured ankle protesting with each step. She catches herself on the shore, but her eyes are fixed on the water. The Guardian's growls echo through the passage, growing louder with each passing moment. Elric's torch casts flickering shadows on the walls, making it seem as though the darkness itself is moving. Suddenly, a chunk of debris crashes into the lake, sending ripples through the water and disturbing the boat's fragile balance.

I reach out to steady the boat, my heart pounding in my chest. "Careful!" I call out, my eyes darting between Varikka and Elric. The Guardian's growls are getting louder, and I can hear the sound of rushing water coming from deeper within the chamber. We don't have time to waste. "Varikka, get in the boat," I command, my voice firm but laced with concern. "Elric, you too. We need to move now."

I glance at the tunnel behind us, my hand tightening on the hilt of the Time-Splitting Sword. The Guardian is close, and we can't afford to be caught off guard. I turn back to Varikka, my eyes narrowing as I take in her injured ankle. "Can you make it into the boat?" I ask, my tone softening slightly. As I wait for Varikka's response, I scan the chamber once more, looking for any signs of danger. The water is still clear, but the boat is rocking gently with each passing moment. I can feel the current tugging at the hull, and I know we don't have much time before it carries us away. But even as I worry about our immediate safety, I can't shake the feeling that this is just the beginning of something much larger. The Time-Splitting Sword pulses against my back, its power a constant reminder of the stakes we're playing for. And as I look at Varikka and Elric, their faces etched with fear and determination, I know that we're in this together - for better or for worse. "Alright," I say, turning to face the water ahead of us. "Let's see where this takes us." And with that, I push off from the shore, the boat gliding silently into the darkness beyond.
