Round 819 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Elric leads the way through the hidden passage, Varikka's injured ankle causes her to limp and stumble. Merrin catches her by the elbow, steadying her as they follow Elric into the unknown. The air grows thick with dust and debris, and the sound of falling rocks echoes through the passageway. Elric stops suddenly, his head cocked to one side as he listens intently. "The Guardian is closing in," he whispers, his eyes scanning the darkness ahead. "We need to move quickly, but we also need to be careful not to alert him to our presence."
Merrin's voice cuts through the tension, her tone laced with worry. "What's our next move, Elric?" she asks, her hand still clutched around Varikka's arm. Elric's gaze falls on Varikka, his expression unreadable. "We need to find a safe place to rest and regroup," he says, his voice measured. "The passage ahead is treacherous, but I think I can lead us to a hidden chamber where we can catch our breath and plan our next move."
Varikka's eyes narrow, her jaw clenched in skepticism. "And what's in it for you?" she asks, her voice sharp with distrust. Elric's eyes flash with a hint of anger, but he keeps his expression neutral. "I'll get us out of here," he says simply. "You just need to trust me."
I bite my lip, anxiety twisting in my gut as Elric leads us into the unknown. The air grows thick with dust and debris, and the sound of falling rocks echoes through the passageway. I keep a tight grip on Varikka's arm, steadying her as she limps along beside me. Elric stops suddenly, his head cocked to one side as he listens intently. "The Guardian is closing in," he whispers, his eyes scanning the darkness ahead. "We need to move quickly, but we also need to be careful not to alert him to our presence."
I nod, my heart pounding in my chest. I can feel the weight of my crossbow in my hand, the cold metal a reminder of the danger that lurks around every corner. "What's our next move, Elric?" I ask, my voice tight with fear. Elric's gaze falls on Varikka, his expression unreadable. "We need to find a safe place to rest and regroup," he says, his voice measured. "The passage ahead is treacherous, but I think I can lead us to a hidden chamber where we can catch our breath and plan our next move."

I hesitate, my mind racing as I try to weigh our options. On one hand, trusting a stranger in this place seems like a fool's errand. But on the other hand, we have no idea what lies ahead of us, and the Guardian's pursuit grows louder with each passing moment. I glance at Varikka, seeing the same wariness in her eyes that I feel in my gut. "Okay," I say finally, taking a deep breath. "We'll trust you...for now. But if this is some kind of trick, I swear I'll cut you down myself."
Elric nods, his expression unreadable. "Understood," he says, turning to lead the way through the hidden passage.
