Round 797 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Varikka's face contorts in agony as she struggles to keep moving, her injured ankle screaming in protest with every step. Merrin winces in sympathy, her own legs shaking with fatigue and fear. The Guardian's pursuit is still a constant threat, echoing through the tunnel as it collapses further behind them. As they huddle together in the cramped crevice, Varikka's eyes lock onto the glowing liquid shard in Merrin's hand. "What's that?" she whispers, her voice barely audible over the sound of dripping water.
I glance down at the glowing liquid shard in my hand, a shiver running down my spine. "I'm not sure," I admit, my voice hushed. "We found it in that hidden chamber, just before everything started collapsing. It was... glowing, like it was calling to us."
I turn the shard over in my hands, watching as the light dances across its surface. "I think it might be important somehow," I continue, my brow furrowing in concentration. "But I don't know how or why. We'll have to figure that out later though - right now, we need to focus on staying alive."
As if on cue, a rumble echoes through the tunnel, sending a shower of dust and debris raining down from above. "We should keep moving," I say, my voice tight with urgency. "This whole place is falling apart around us. We need to find a way out before it's too late."
I help Varikka to her feet, my hands gripping her arms tightly as I steady her. "Can you walk?" I ask, my eyes searching hers for any sign of pain or exhaustion. "We don't have far to go, but we can't afford to stop again. Not with The Guardian still on our tail."
With a deep breath, I step out into the tunnel, my hand on the hilt of my mace and my eyes scanning the shadows for any hint of danger. "Stay close," I murmur, my voice barely audible over the sound of crumbling stone. "And be ready to run. We don't know what other horrors this place might hold."
And with that, I lead the way forward, my heart pounding in my chest as we navigate the treacherous depths of the ancient tower, praying that we'll find a way out before it's too late.
