Round 768 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The air is thick with dust as Merrin and Varikka press deeper into the narrow passageway. The ground beneath them gives a deadly shudder, and a section of the ceiling collapses, sending rocks tumbling down on their right flank. The Time-Splitting Sword in Merrin's hand pulses with energy, casting an eerie glow over the chaos. Varikka's injured ankle throbs with pain as she limps forward, her eyes scanning the tunnel for any signs of danger. The Guardian's pursuit is closing in, its dark energy seeping into the air. A faint rumbling noise echoes through the tunnel, growing louder by the second. Merrin catches Varikka's arm, steadying her as she stumbles. "We need to keep moving," he says, his voice urgent. "This tunnel looks like it could collapse at any moment."
Varikka nods grimly, wincing in pain. "I know," she replies, her jaw set with determination. "But we can't afford to stop now."
I steady Varikka as she stumbles, my heart pounding in my chest as I feel the ground shaking beneath our feet. The Time-Splitting Sword pulses with energy in my hand, its ancient magic reacting to the instability of the tunnel around us.
"We need to keep moving," I say, my voice urgent as I point to the narrow passageway ahead.* "That's our only way out of here. But we'll have to be careful - the tunnel looks like it could collapse at any moment."
Varikka nods grimly, wiping the dust from her eyes as she struggles to regain her footing. I can see the pain in her face, and I know that her ankle must be bothering her even more now.
"I know," she replies, her jaw set with determination.* "But we can't afford to stop now."
I nod, taking a deep breath as I steel myself for whatever challenges lie ahead. The Time-Splitting Sword pulses with energy in my hand, its power growing more unstable with each passing moment. But for now, all that matters is staying alive, and getting as far away from the Guardian and the collapsing tunnel as possible.
As we press deeper into the narrow passageway, I find myself wondering if we've made the right choice. The tunnel seems to grow narrower and more treacherous with each passing moment, the walls closing in around us like the jaws of a trap. And with Varikka's ankle injured and the ground crumbling beneath our feet, I know that we're taking a huge risk by venturing any further into this place.
But I also know that we have no choice. We can't go back the way we came - the tunnel behind us is blocked by the collapsed section of ceiling. And if we stay here, we could be buried alive as the rest of the tunnel comes down around us. So I take a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever challenges lie ahead. The Time-Splitting Sword pulses with energy in my hand, its power growing more unstable with each passing moment. But for now, all that matters is staying alive, and getting as far away from the Guardian and the collapsing tunnel as possible.
But even as I think these things, I know that we have no choice. We have to keep moving forward, no matter what challenges lie ahead. The Guardian is closing in on us, and if we don't find a way out of this tunnel soon, we may be doomed to face its wrath.
Varrika: Merrin, I hear you. We can't stop now. But this tunnel is getting narrower by the second. The walls are closing in on us like a vise. I grit my teeth against the pain in my ankle, forcing myself to push forward one limping step at a time. The ground trembles and shifts beneath our feet, and I brace myself for another collapse. The Time-Splitting Sword pulses with an eerie light in Merrin's hand, casting flickering shadows on the tunnel walls. We have to keep moving, no matter what. But we need to be careful. One wrong step could bring the whole tunnel down on our heads. And if the Guardian catches up to us... I shudder at the thought. Merrin, can you see anything up ahead? Any sign of an exit or a safe place to rest? I peer into the darkness, my eyes straining to make out any details in the gloom. The tunnel twists and turns before us, disappearing into the shadows. But I can't see any signs of danger - no fallen rocks or cracks in the walls. For now, at least, we seem to be safe.
I take a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart as I focus on putting one foot in front of the other. The pain in my ankle is getting worse with each step, but I know that I can't afford to stop now. We have to keep moving forward, no matter what challenges lie ahead.
As we push deeper into the tunnel, I find myself wondering if we've made the right choice. The walls seem to be closing in on us from all sides, and the air is getting thinner and harder to breathe. But I know that we can't go back the way we came - the tunnel behind us is blocked by the collapsed section of ceiling.
But even as I think these things, I know that we're not out of danger yet. The Guardian is still out there somewhere, and if it catches up to us, we may be doomed to face its wrath. So I push forward with renewed determination, my eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of movement.
And as we press deeper into the narrow passageway, I find myself wondering what other dangers and challenges await us. The tunnel seems to go on forever, twisting and turning through the depths of the ancient tower. And with each passing moment, the walls seem to close in a little bit more, until I feel like I can't breathe.
But I know that we have no choice. We have to keep moving forward, no matter what challenges lie ahead. The Guardian is closing in on us, and if we don't find a way out of this tunnel soon, we may be doomed to face its wrath.
