As Merrin and Varikka exit the chamber, the Time-Splitting Sword still humming with energy in her hand, they're met with a sudden burst of light from the corridor ahead. The Guardian's pursuit has brought it to this point, and now it's advancing with a speed that sends rocks tumbling from the ceiling. A concrete consequence of their actions is that the next few feet will be extremely treacherous, as the Guardian's dark energy seeps into the air, making every surface slippery and unstable.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I feel my heart pounding in my chest as I grip the Time-Splitting Sword tightly, its power pulsing through my veins like liquid fire. The Guardian is getting closer, its dark energy seeping into the very air around us, making every surface slippery and unstable.

I glance over at Varikka, my brow furrowed with concern. "Varikka, we need to move fast," I say, my voice urgent but controlled. "The ground is crumbling beneath our feet, and if we don't get out of here soon, we could be buried alive."

She nods grimly, her jaw set with determination. "I know," she says, her voice strained with effort as she struggles to keep her balance on her injured ankle. "But where do we go? The tunnel ahead looks like it's about to collapse at any moment."

I take a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves as I scan the surroundings for any sign of an escape route. "We'll have to take our chances," I say, my voice grim and resolute. "We can't go back the way we came - the Guardian is cutting off that path. And if we stay here, we'll be trapped in this chamber with no way out."

With that, I take a deep breath and start to move forward, my free hand reaching out to steady myself against the crumbling walls of the tunnel. The Time-Splitting Sword pulses with energy at my hip, its power growing more unstable with each passing moment.

I know that we're taking a huge risk by venturing deeper into the tower, but I also know that we have no choice. We have to keep moving forward, even if it means facing the consequences of our actions later.

As we push deeper into the unknown, I find myself wondering what other dangers and challenges await us. But for now, all that matters is staying alive, and getting as far away from the Guardian and the collapsing tower as possible.

Varrika · Fighter

I grit my teeth as we push deeper into the collapsing tunnel, my injured ankle throbbing in agony with each step. But I know we can't afford to slow down now - the Guardian is getting closer with every passing moment, and if we don't find a way out of here soon, we could be buried alive.

I keep my eyes peeled for any sign of movement in the shadows, my hand resting on the hilt of my sword as I scan the crumbling walls ahead. The Time-Splitting Sword pulses with energy at Merrin's hip, its ancient magic intertwined with the very foundations of this place. I can feel it reacting to the collapsing tower around us, its power growing more unstable with each passing moment.

Suddenly, I hear a loud crash behind us, followed by the sound of falling rock. I whirl around, my heart pounding in my chest as I see a section of the tunnel collapse behind us, cutting off our path back to the chamber where we found the sword.

"Merrin, look out!" I shout, my voice strained with effort as I point to the collapsed section of tunnel.* "We're trapped!"

She nods grimly, her grip tightening on the hilt of the Time-Splitting Sword. "I see it," she says, her voice barely audible over the sound of falling rock. "We'll have to keep going forward. It's our only chance."

I take a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves as I turn back towards the path ahead. The tunnel is narrow and treacherous, with jagged rocks protruding from the walls and the floor slick with moisture. But we have no choice - we have to keep moving forward, even if it means facing the consequences of our actions later.

As we push deeper into the unknown, I find myself wondering what other dangers and challenges await us. But for now, all that matters is staying alive, and getting as far away from the Guardian and the collapsing tower as possible.
