Round 763 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As we run deeper into the tower, the ground beneath us continues to shake with each step. The sound of falling rock grows fainter, but the air is thick with dust, making it difficult to see more than a few feet ahead. I can feel the weight of the Time-Splitting Sword at Merrin's hip, its power pulsing through the air like a living thing. Suddenly, the corridor opens up into a large chamber, and I stumble forward, my injured ankle throbbing in protest. The room is dominated by a large, ornate pedestal, and on top of it rests the Time-Splitting Sword. It glows with an otherworldly energy, casting flickering shadows across the walls. But our moment of triumph is short-lived, as we hear the sound of the Guardian closing in. I can feel its presence, a dark and malevolent force that seems to be drawing closer with every step. The structural collapse behind us continues to rumble, threatening to cut us off from escape.
My eyes grow wide as I take in the sight of the Time-Splitting Sword on the pedestal before us. The ancient magic emanating from it is palpable, sending shivers down my spine even from across the room. But there's no time to marvel at its beauty - we can hear the Guardian drawing closer with each passing moment, its dark energy seeping into the very air around us.
I reach for the sword, my fingers brushing against its cool metal surface. A surge of power courses through me as I lift it from the pedestal, and I can feel the weight of its history in my hands. But even as I admire its craftsmanship, I know that we can't afford to linger here.
I glance over at Varikka, concern etched on my face as I take in the state of her injured ankle. "Varikka, you look like you're in pain," I say softly, my voice laced with worry. "Do you think you can make it out of here?"
She nods grimly, her jaw set with determination. "I'll manage," she grits out through clenched teeth. "We don't have a choice."
I know she's right. The tower is collapsing around us, and the Guardian is getting closer with every passing moment. We need to move, and fast.
I take one last look at the chamber behind us, my eyes lingering on the pedestal where the Time-Splitting Sword once rested. "Let's go," I say, my voice soft but urgent. "And whatever you do, don't let go of that sword."
With that, I turn and race towards the far end of the chamber, my heart pounding in my chest as I pray that we can make it out of this alive.
I limp alongside Merrin towards the far end of the chamber, my injured ankle screaming in agony with each step. But I push through the pain, knowing that we can't afford to slow down now.
The Time-Splitting Sword pulses with energy at Merrin's hip, its ancient magic intertwined with the very foundations of this place. I can feel it reacting to the collapsing tower around us, its power growing more unstable with each passing moment.
As we near the exit, a sense of unease washes over me. Something feels off about this chamber, as if it's hiding secrets that could be our undoing. But with the Guardian hot on our heels and the ground shaking beneath our feet, we have no choice but to keep moving forward.
I glance over at Merrin, my brow furrowed with concern. "Merrin, be careful with that sword," I warn her, my voice strained with effort as I struggle to keep up. "We don't know what it's capable of, and if it gets out of hand, it could destroy us all."
She nods grimly, her grip tightening on the hilt of the weapon. "I know," she says, her voice barely above a whisper. "But we have no choice. We have to take it with us, even if it means facing the consequences later."
With that, we reach the exit of the chamber, the sound of falling rock and the Guardian's pursuit growing louder behind us. I brace myself for whatever challenges lie ahead, knowing that our fight is far from over.
I turn to Merrin, my eyes hard with determination. "Let's go," I say, my voice grim and resolute. "And whatever you do, don't let go of that sword."
