Round 761 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The ground beneath us continues to shake as we take a moment to catch our breath. Varikka's injured ankle throbs with each step, and I know we can't keep pushing ourselves for much longer. "Varikka, do you think you can make it?" I ask, my voice laced with concern. Varikka grits her teeth, determination etched on her face. "I can make it," she says, her voice firm. "We're not done yet."
As we press on, the sound of the Guardian's pursuit grows louder, echoing off the walls of the tunnel. I know we can't keep running forever. Suddenly, a loud rumbling noise shakes the ground beneath us, and we stumble forward, almost losing our footing. The tunnel begins to collapse around us, debris falling from the ceiling as the structural integrity of the tunnel fails. "We need to find a way out, now!" I shout above the din of the collapsing tunnel, my eyes scanning the walls for any sign of an exit.
I scan the crumbling walls of the tunnel, my heart racing as I search for any sign of an escape route. The sound of falling debris grows louder with each passing moment, the structural integrity of the tunnel failing around us.
And then, just as I'm about to lose hope, I see it - a small, partially hidden door set into the side of the tunnel, its wooden frame barely visible beneath the rubble. Without hesitation, I rush forward, my hands scrabbling at the door as I try to pull it open.
"Varikka, help me!" I shout, my voice strained with effort as I heave against the heavy door. "We need to get this open now!"
Together, we push and pull at the door, our muscles straining as we fight against the weight of the rubble that has fallen against it. And just as I'm about to give up hope, the door suddenly gives way, swinging open with a creak of rusted hinges.
I don't wait for Varikka to follow me - I dive through the opening, my body slamming into the ground on the other side as I scramble to my feet. The tunnel behind us continues to collapse, the sound of falling rock echoing off the walls as we flee deeper into the unknown depths of the ancient tower.
As we run, I can feel the weight of the Time-Splitting Sword at my hip, its power still unknown to us. But for now, all that matters is staying alive, and getting as far away from the Guardian and the collapsing tunnels as possible.
We stumble forward into the darkness, our hearts pounding in our chests as we try to catch our breath. And as the sound of the collapsing tunnel fades behind us, I find myself wondering what other dangers and challenges await us in the depths of this ancient tower.
I stumble through the door after Merrin, my injured ankle screaming in protest with each step. But I push through the pain, knowing that we can't afford to stop now.
As we run deeper into the unknown depths of the ancient tower, I find myself wondering what other dangers and challenges await us. The Time-Splitting Sword weighs heavily at Merrin's hip, its power still unknown to us. And I have a feeling that whatever lies ahead will be just as dangerous, if not more so, than what we've left behind.
But for now, all that matters is staying alive. We can't afford to let our guard down, not even for a moment. The Guardian could be lurking around any corner, waiting to strike when we least expect it.
I keep my eyes peeled for any sign of movement in the shadows, my hand resting on the hilt of my sword as I scan the dark tunnels ahead. And as we push forward into the unknown, I find myself praying that whatever comes next won't be too much for us to handle.
