Round 760 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As we stumble through the rubble-filled tunnel, my heart racing with every step, I can feel the ground shaking beneath our feet. The sound of falling rock echoes through the chamber behind us, growing fainter with each passing moment. Merrin's grip on my hand tightens as we move forward, her eyes fixed on the narrow opening in the far wall. Suddenly, Varikka's injured ankle gives way beneath her, sending her crashing to the ground. I rush to her side, helping her to sit up and assess the damage. "Merrin, we need to get her out of here," I say, looking back at Merrin who is now engaged in a fierce duel with the Guardian. The Guardian's sword flashes in the moonlight as she lunges towards Varikka, her blade raised high above her head. Merrin's movements are slowed by the pain in her own leg from earlier, but she continues to fight with precision and skill. I can see the determination in her eyes, but it's clear that she won't be able to keep this up for much longer. "We need to get Varikka out of here, now," Merrin shouts over the sound of clashing steel. "We can't let the Guardian hurt her."
I feel my heart pounding in my chest as I watch Varikka fall to the ground, her injured ankle giving way beneath her. I want to rush to her side, but I know that I can't leave the Guardian's blade unchecked for even a moment. With a final surge of strength, I manage to parry the Guardian's attack, sending her sword clattering to the ground.
I spin around, my own weapon at the ready as I face the Guardian once again. She sneers at me, her eyes burning with hatred as she reaches for her fallen blade. But before she can grab it, I lunge forward, my sword slicing through the air towards her throat.
The Guardian stumbles back, her hand coming up to ward off the blow. And in that moment, I see my chance. I turn and sprint towards Varikka, my heart racing as I reach down and grab her by the arm, pulling her to her feet.
"Come on, Varikka!" I shout, my voice hoarse with effort as I drag her towards the narrow opening in the far wall. "We need to get out of here now!"
Behind us, I can hear the Guardian's heavy footsteps, the sound of her sword slicing through the air as she pursues us through the collapsing tunnel. But for now, all that matters is getting Varikka to safety.
As we stagger through the rubble-filled passageway, I can feel the ground shaking beneath my feet, the sound of falling rock echoing through the chamber behind us. My own ankle throbs with pain, but I force myself to keep moving, knowing that we can't afford to stop now.
And just then, as we round a corner in the tunnel, I see it - a glimmer of light in the distance, growing brighter with each passing moment. It's the exit, the way out of this nightmare.
"Varikka, look!" I shout, pointing towards the opening. "We're almost there! Just a little further!"
And with a final push, we stumble through the opening, our hearts racing as we emerge into the cool night air. Behind us, I can hear the sound of falling rock, the chamber collapsing in on itself as the Guardian is left to perish in the depths.
I turn to Varikka, my eyes searching her face for any sign of injury. "Are you okay?" I ask, my voice filled with concern.
Varikka nods, a weak smile spreading across her face. "Yeah," she says, her voice strained but determined. "I'm okay. We made it out."
And as we stand there in the moonlight, the sound of the collapsing chamber fading behind us, I feel a sense of relief wash over me. We're alive, and we've survived the greatest challenge of our lives.
But even as I bask in the momentary victory, I know that our journey is far from over. The Time-Splitting Sword weighs heavily at my hip, its power still unknown to us. And I have a feeling that whatever lies ahead will be just as dangerous, if not more so, than what we've left behind.
But for now, all that matters is that we're alive. And as I look over at Varikka, her face illuminated by the moonlight, I know that whatever comes next, we'll face it together.
I stumble out into the moonlight, my heart pounding in my chest as I try to catch my breath. The sound of falling rock fades behind us, the chamber collapsing in on itself as the Guardian is left to perish in the depths.
I turn to Varrika, my eyes searching her face for any sign of injury. "Are you okay?" I ask, my voice filled with concern.
Varikka nods, a weak smile spreading across her face. "Yeah," she says, her voice strained but determined. "I'm okay. We made it out."
I let out a sigh of relief, my shoulders slumping as the tension drains from my body. But even as I bask in the momentary victory, I know that our journey is far from over.
