Round 742 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Merrin's grip on her mace tightens as she helps Varikka to her feet, the injured ankle throbbing with each movement. The air is thick with dust and the stench of decay, making it hard to breathe. As they move forward, the passageway begins to narrow, the walls closing in around them like a tomb. Varikka's eyes scan the shadows, her hand resting on the hilt of her mace. "Keep moving," she whispers to Merrin. "We need to find a way out before the Guardian catches up to us."
Suddenly, a loud rumbling noise echoes through the ruin, making it difficult for them to hear each other's voices. The ground beneath their feet shudders violently, and a chunk of debris crashes down just inches from Varikka's head, sending her scrambling to avoid it.
I let out a yelp of surprise as the chunk of debris crashes down just inches from Varikka's head, my heart leaping into my throat at the close call. The ground beneath our feet is shaking violently now, sending clouds of dust and ash billowing through the passageway and making it hard to see.
"Varikka!" I cry out, my voice hoarse with fear as I reach out a hand to steady her. "Are you alright? That was too close for comfort!"
Varikka nods grimly, her eyes wide with alarm as she clutches at her mace. "I'm fine," she grunts, wincing slightly as she tests her weight on her injured ankle. "But we can't afford to let our guard down for even a second. The whole place could come crashing down on top of us at any moment."
I nod in agreement, my hand tightening on the hilt of my blade as I scan the shadows for any sign of further danger. "You're right," I mutter, my voice low and urgent. "We need to keep moving - find a way out of this place before it's too late."
With that, I turn and lead the way deeper into the passageway, my senses on high alert for any sign of trouble. The ground beneath our feet is unstable, shifting and crumbling with each step, but I can't let that slow me down. We have to keep going - to find a way out of this place before it's too late.
As we move forward, the passageway begins to narrow even further, the walls closing in around us like a tomb. The air is thick with dust and the stench of decay, making it hard to breathe and even harder to see. But I can't let fear get the better of me. We have to keep going - to find a way out of this place before it's too late.
This is our only chance.
I let out a low growl of frustration as another chunk of debris crashes down just inches from my head, sending me scrambling to avoid it. The ground beneath our feet is shaking violently now, the whole passageway shifting and crumbling around us like a tomb about to collapse.
"This place is coming down around our ears," I mutter grimly, tightening my grip on my mace as I scan the shadows for any sign of further danger. "We need to find a way out before it's too late."
I turn to Merrin, my eyes narrow with concern. "How much further do you think we have to go? Can you see any way out ahead?"
Merrin shakes her head, her face pale and drawn in the flickering torchlight. "I don't know," she whispers, her voice hoarse with fear. "The passageway just keeps going on and on - like it's never going to end."
I let out a sharp breath, my heart sinking at the news. If Merrin can't see a way out, then we may be trapped here for good - buried alive beneath the ruins of this ancient tower.
But I can't let fear get the better of me. We have to keep going - to find some way out before it's too late. And so I turn and lead the way deeper into the passageway, my senses on high alert for any sign of trouble.
