Round 735 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Merrin and Varikka make their way through the narrow passageway, the Guardian's roar echoes through the corridor behind them, growing fainter with each step. Elric's words continue to echo in Varikka's mind: "The Time-Splitting Sword can only be wielded by one who has faced the darkness within themselves..." The air grows thick with an otherworldly energy, and Varikka's skin prickles with unease. Suddenly, the passageway opens up into a small chamber filled with a thick layer of mist. In the center of the room, a glowing portal pulsates with an eerie light.
As we burst into the mist-filled chamber, I find myself momentarily disoriented by the thick haze swirling around us. The air feels heavy, charged with an otherworldly energy that raises the hairs on the back of my neck.
But it's the pulsing portal in the center of the room that really catches my eye. An eerie glow emanates from its surface, casting flickering shadows across the walls. I can feel a strange pull towards it, as if some unseen force is beckoning us closer.
I turn to Varikka, my voice hushed with awe and apprehension. "Varikka, do you see that? What do you think it is?"
As I speak, I tighten my grip on my mace, ready for whatever dangers might lurk in the shadows of this strange chamber. The Guardian's roar still echoes faintly in the distance, a reminder of the peril we've narrowly escaped... and the challenges that may still lie ahead.
But even as I feel the weight of our mission pressing down upon us, I can't shake the feeling that this portal may hold the key to our salvation. With a deep breath, I take a tentative step forward, my eyes fixed on the swirling mist as I prepare to face whatever lies beyond.
I stare at the glowing portal, my heart pounding in my chest. The air around us seems to crackle with energy, and I can feel a strange pull towards the pulsing light.
But even as I'm drawn in by its mesmerizing glow, a sense of unease creeps over me. Elric's words echo in my mind - "The Time-Splitting Sword can only be wielded by one who has faced the darkness within themselves..." And I can't shake the feeling that whatever lies beyond this portal might be even more dangerous than the Guardian we've just escaped.
I turn to Merrin, my voice laced with worry. "Merrin, wait. Something about this feels... wrong. Elric said we need to face our inner darkness first. Maybe we should be cautious before jumping through without knowing what's on the other side."
My eyes dart around the chamber, searching for any signs of danger or hidden traps. The thick mist swirls ominously, and I can't shake the feeling that we're being watched.
Still, I know that Merrin is right - we can't just stand here forever. With a deep breath, I take a tentative step forward, my mace at the ready as I prepare to face whatever challenges may lie ahead. "Let's do this together, then. Stay close, and be ready for anything."
As we approach the portal, I steel myself for whatever may come next. The Guardian may be behind us for now, but I have a feeling that our true test of courage is still to come.
