The Guardian's roar grows louder, its presence closing in like a noose, and Merrin knows she must act quickly to save Varikka. She spots a length of sturdy rope protruding from the rubble nearby and swiftly cuts it free with her heavy mace. The rope is frayed and worn but should be strong enough to support Varikka's weight. With a swift motion, Merrin tosses the rope down into the pit, its end swinging precariously near Varikka's outstretched hand.
