Varikka takes a deep breath, her eyes locked on the gap between the rubble piles ahead. With a fierce determination, she launches herself into the air, her injured leg aching with each step. The ground shudders beneath her as she lands awkwardly on the other side of the bridge, her weight causing the makeshift structure to creak and sway ominously. The Guardian's roar grows louder, its presence closing in like a noose, and Merrin knows they must move quickly if they want to escape. The narrow bridge behind them has collapsed, sending a cascade of debris crashing down onto the rubble below. The air is thick with dust and the smell of decay, and the weight of the rubble beneath their feet feels oppressive. A loud crack splits the air, and the bridge shudders violently, threatening to send them tumbling.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

"Jump!" I shout, my hands outstretched as Varikka leaps across the widening gap. Her body sails through the air, her arms pumping as she fights for every inch of forward momentum. For a heart-stopping moment, it looks like she might make it... but then her foot catches on a jagged piece of rubble and she stumbles, pitching forward with a cry of pain. I lunge to meet her, my fingers brushing against hers as she falls. It's not enough - the weight of her body pulls her out of my grasp, and she tumbles to the ground in a tangle of limbs and dust. "Varikka!" I scream, my heart in my throat as I scramble towards her. But even as I move, I can see that we're running out of time. The bridge behind us is crumbling, the rubble shifting and groaning like a living thing. And the Guardian's roar is growing louder still, its presence closing in on our position. I reach Varikka's side just as she's struggling to her feet, her face contorted in pain. "Can you walk?" I ask, my voice tight with urgency. She nods, but the movement sends a wince across her features. I slip an arm around her waist, supporting her weight as best I can. Together, we stagger forward, our progress slow and halting against the shifting ground. But even as we move, I know that it's not enough. The Guardian is too close, its presence a looming threat behind us. And with Varikka barely able to stand, let alone fight, we're sitting ducks. I cast a desperate glance around the chamber, my mind racing for any sign of an escape route. But there's nothing - just piles of rubble and the distant echo of falling stone. We're trapped. And with the tower crumbling around us, I'm not sure that either of us will make it out alive.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

Varrika grunts in pain as she hauls herself upright, her injured leg throbbing beneath the weight of her body. Merrin's arm wraps around her waist, supporting her as they stagger forward through the rubble-choked chamber. The air is thick with dust and the distant rumble of falling stone, the weight of the collapsing tower pressing down on them from all sides. Varikka can feel the heat of Merrin's body against hers, the rogue's breath coming in short, sharp gasps as she fights to keep them both upright. But even as they move, Varrika knows it's not enough. The Guardian is too close, its presence a looming threat behind them. And with her leg barely able to support her weight, let alone fight, they're sitting ducks. She glances around wildly, her eyes searching for any sign of an escape route. But there's nothing - just piles of rubble and the distant echo of falling stone. They're trapped. And with the tower crumbling around them, Varrika's not sure either of them will make it out alive.
