Round 710 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Varikka stumbles through the doorway just ahead, her eyes wide with fear as she struggles to catch her breath. The noxious gas swirls around her, its acrid smell filling her lungs, but she pushes on, her hand grasping for the door handle behind her. As she stumbles through the doorway, it swings shut behind her, enveloping Varikka in darkness. The Guardian's roar echoes through the corridor outside, its sword slicing through the air mere feet away from the closed door.
"Varikka!" I scream as the door slams shut behind her, the sound of the Guardian's roar echoing through the thick stone walls. I can feel my heart pounding in my chest, my lungs burning with each ragged breath as I struggle to catch my breath in the noxious gas that still swirls around me. "Varikka, are you alright?" I call out, my voice hoarse and strained as I pound on the door with my fist. But there is no answer, only the sound of stone crumbling somewhere deep beneath us, the ground shaking beneath our feet. I can feel the weight of the Guardian's sword pressing against my back, its blade slicing through the air mere inches from my skin. And as I turn to face it once more, I can see the hatred in its eyes, the malice that seems to emanate from every pore of its being. "Come on then, you bastard," *I hiss through clenched teeth, my hand reaching for my crossbow as I ready myself for the final confrontation. "Let's finish this."
And with that, I launch myself at the Guardian, my crossbow aimed straight at its heart. The bolt streaks through the air, its tip glowing with an otherworldly light as it pierces the Guardian's chest. But even as I watch it fall, I know that this is only the beginning. There will be more challenges ahead, more dangers to face, and more lives to risk in our quest for the Time-Splitting Sword. But for now, all that matters is getting Varikka to safety. And as I turn back to the door, my hand grasping for the handle behind me, I can only pray that it will be enough to save us both from the horrors that lie ahead.
