As we plummet towards the depths below, the rope snaps with a sickening sound, sending us both tumbling through the air. The noxious gas fills our lungs, making it hard to breathe, and I feel my vision blurring at the edges. Varika's grip on the Guardian's sword falters for a moment before she recovers, her eyes locked on mine with a fierce determination. We crash to the ground with a thud, the impact sending us both flying across the chamber. As I struggle to catch my breath, I see that we've landed in a small, dimly lit room filled with ancient artifacts and strange devices. The air is thick with dust, and cobwebs hang from the ceiling like ghostly fingers. But it's not the room that's our biggest concern - it's The Guardian, who's now standing over us, its eyes blazing with fury. "You fools," it growls, its voice like thunder in the small space. "You think you can defeat me? I will crush you both, and then I will claim this sword for myself!"

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

As I struggle to catch my breath, I feel a wave of panic wash over me. The Guardian looms above us, its eyes blazing with fury, and I know we're in serious trouble.

"Varikka," I rasp, my voice strained from the exertion of our fall.* "We need to get that sword away from it. It's too powerful for anyone to wield, let alone something like that!"

I glance around wildly, trying to spot anything that might help us - a weapon, a piece of armor, anything at all. But the room is bare, the only light coming from the flickering glow of the Guardian's sword.

"Merrin!" Varikka shouts, her voice urgent.* "We have to act fast! The Guardian is too strong for us to take on directly!"

She's right, I know. But what choice do we have? We can't just stand here and let it claim the sword for itself. Not after everything we've been through to get here.

I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what's to come. "Alright," I say, my voice trembling slightly. "We'll need to work together on this one. Varikka, you keep the Guardian occupied. I'll try to find a way to disable it or at least get that sword away from it."

Varikka nods, her grip tightening on the Guardian's blade. "Got it," she says, her voice filled with determination.

And with that, we launch ourselves at the Guardian, our weapons at the ready and our hearts pounding in our chests. Because right now, all that matters is stopping this thing before it's too late.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

As Merrin launches herself at the Guardian, her eyes blazing with determination, I feel a surge of pride wash over me. She's come so far, faced so much, and yet here she is, ready to take on this beast once again. But I know that we can't do this alone. We need to work together, to use our strengths and compensate for our weaknesses. And right now, my strength lies in keeping the Guardian occupied while Merrin tries to find a way to disable it or get that sword away from it. I raise my mace, the heavy head glinting in the dim light of the chamber. "Hey, ugly!" I shout, my voice echoing off the ancient walls. "Why don't you come and get me?"

The Guardian's eyes snap towards me, its lips curling into a sneer. "You think you can defeat me?" it growls, its voice like thunder in the small space. I let out a bark of laughter, my grip tightening on my mace. "I've faced worse than you," I say, my voice filled with bravado even as my heart hammers in my chest. And with that, I launch myself at the Guardian, my mace swinging through the air. I know it's not going to be easy, but we have no choice. We have to stop this thing before it's too late.
