Merrin's eyes snap open, her gaze fixed on Varika's grip on the Guardian's sword as they plummet down the narrow shaft. The rope creaks ominously overhead, threatening to snap at any moment under their combined weight. Varika's knuckles are white with effort, her face set in a determined expression. The noxious gas continues to fill their lungs, making it difficult to breathe. The air is thick and oppressive, and the walls around them seem to be closing in from all sides. A loud crack echoes through the shaft, followed by the sound of stone crumbling beneath their feet. As they fall, Merrin's injured ankle throbs with pain. She tries to shift her weight, but the movement only makes it worse. The rope stretches taut, threatening to snap at any moment. Suddenly, the Guardian's sword glows brighter, illuminating the dark shaft and casting eerie shadows on the walls.

Merrin · Rogue

As we plummet down the narrow shaft, I feel my heart pounding in my chest. The rope creaks ominously overhead, threatening to snap at any moment under our combined weight. Varikka's grip on the Guardian's sword tightens, her knuckles white with effort as she fights to keep hold of the blade.

I try to shift my weight, to redistribute our balance on the rope, but the movement only makes the pain in my ankle worse. I let out a low moan, my fingers tightening around Varikka's as I try to hold onto her. "Varikka," I rasp, my words coming out in short, labored breaths. "We need to find a way out of here. The gas...it's too thick. We can't stay here much longer."

But even as I say the words, I know they're futile. We're trapped, suspended in mid-air, with no way to escape the noxious gas filling our lungs. And as we fall, the ground below us grows closer and closer, the walls around us seeming to close in from all sides.

Suddenly, a loud crack echoes through the shaft, followed by the sound of stone crumbling beneath our feet. The rope stretches taut, threatening to snap at any moment under our combined weight. I feel my stomach lurch as we plummet towards the unknown depths below, my heart racing in my chest.

Varikka's face is set in a determined expression, her eyes fixed on the Guardian's sword in her hand. "Hold on!" she shouts, her voice barely audible over the din of falling debris. "I've got you!"

And as we fall, I feel a moment of pure, unadulterated terror wash over me. The noxious gas continues to fill my lungs, making it difficult to breathe, and the walls around us seem to be closing in from all sides.

But even in that moment of fear, I know one thing for certain: we have to survive this. We have to find a way out of here, no matter what it takes. "Varikka," I manage to choke out between coughs. "We...we can't give up now. We have to keep fighting."

And with that, I close my eyes and let the darkness take me, praying that whatever awaits us at the bottom of this shaft will be better than what we've left behind.

Varrika · Fighter

I let out a shout of pain as we plummet down the narrow shaft, my injured ankle throbbing with each jolt and bounce. The rope creaks ominously overhead, threatening to snap at any moment under our combined weight.

But even in the midst of the chaos, I can feel the power of the Guardian's sword in my hand, its glow illuminating the dark shaft around us. It's as if the blade is guiding us, showing us the way out of this nightmare.

I grit my teeth and tighten my grip on the sword, my other arm wrapped tightly around Merrin's waist to keep her steady. "Hold on, Merrin!" I shout over the din of falling debris. "We're going to make it out of this!"

And as we fall, I feel a surge of determination wash over me. We've been through too much to give up now. We've lost so many along the way already - Halie, Seraphine, Jeane...we can't let their sacrifices be in vain.

I glance down at Merrin, her face pale and drawn in the eerie glow of the sword. "Merrin," I rasp, my voice strained from the exertion of holding onto her and the Guardian's blade. "We're going to make it through this together. No matter what happens."

And with that, I close my eyes and let the darkness take me, praying that whatever awaits us at the bottom of this shaft will be better than what we've left behind.
