Varikka's ankle throbs as she takes another step forward, her mace clutched tightly in her hand. The air is thick with the chanting energy, making it difficult to breathe. Suddenly, the ground beneath her gives way once more, and she tumbles into a narrow crevice between the walls, the sound of rushing water growing louder. Merrin rushes forward, her eyes scanning the darkness, and finds Varikka wedged in the tight space. "Varikka, I've got you!" she calls out, her voice hoarse with concern.

I rush over to the narrow crevice where Varikka is wedged, my heart pounding in my chest. "Varikka!" I cry out, my voice hoarse with concern as I crouch down beside her. "Are you alright?"

The dwarf warrior's face is streaked with grime and sweat, her eyes wide with pain as she struggles to move. "I'm stuck," she grunts, her voice trembling slightly as she shifts her weight. "My ankle... it's not working right."

I nod, my mind racing as I try to think of a way to help her. The chanting grows louder, more urgent, until it becomes a maddening whisper that fills my ears. But I don't let it slow me down. I know we need to act quickly if we hope to escape this place alive. "Alright," I say, taking a deep breath as I scan the narrow crevice. "Let's see if we can get you out of here." I crouch down beside Varikka, my hands on her shoulders as I try to assess the situation. The walls are smooth and unyielding, the ground beneath us slick with moisture. It's going to be a tight squeeze, but I know we don't have a choice. "On the count of three," I say, my voice steady as I grip Varikka's arms. "One... two... three!" With a grunt of effort, I haul the dwarf warrior up and out of the crevice, her mace clattering to the ground beside us. "There," I pant, hauling Varikka up and onto my shoulder with a grunt of effort. "Let's get you out of here."

But as we stagger to our feet, I can feel the ground beneath us shifting and giving way. The chamber around us begins to fill with a swirling mist, and the whispers grow louder, more urgent, until they become a deafening chant that echoes off the walls. "Varikka," I say, my voice trembling slightly as I grip the dwarf warrior's arm. "We need to move. Now."

With a final nod to myself, I take a deep breath and begin to stagger forward, one step at a time, my heart pounding in my chest as I search the shadows for any sign of danger. And as we move deeper into the darkness, I can't shake the feeling that something terrible is waiting for us at the end of this tunnel. Something that will test us in ways we never imagined. But I'll be ready for it. We both will. For now, all I can do is keep moving forward, one step at a time, and hope that whatever fresh hell awaits us down here, we have the strength to survive it. Together.

Varrika · Fighter

I grit my teeth against the pain, hauling myself up and onto Merrin's shoulder with a grunt of effort. My ankle throbs like a bastard, but I know we don't have time to stop and tend to it now. Not with the ground shifting beneath us and the chanting growing louder with each passing second. "Lead the way," I say, my voice hoarse as I grip Merrin's shoulder tightly. "I'll follow your lead." The dwarf warrior takes a deep breath, steeling herself for whatever fresh hell awaits us down here. She knows we need to act quickly if we hope to escape this place alive. But she also knows that Merrin is the one with the strength and the agility to navigate these treacherous tunnels. So she puts her trust in the other woman, letting her take the lead as they stagger forward into the darkness. The ground beneath their feet shifts and gives way, the walls closing in around them as they move deeper into the chamber. The air is thick with an otherworldly energy, making it difficult to breathe, and Varikka can feel the panic rising in her chest. But she pushes it down, focusing instead on the steady rhythm of Merrin's footsteps and the weight of her mace in her hand. They stagger forward, one step at a time, their hearts pounding in their chests as they search the shadows for any sign of danger. And as they move deeper into the darkness, Varikka can't shake the feeling that something terrible is waiting for them at the end of this tunnel. Something that will test them in ways they never imagined. But she's not afraid. She's a fighter, through and through, and she knows that no matter what fresh hell awaits them down here, she'll face it head-on. With Merrin by her side, she knows they have a fighting chance. And so she presses on, one step at a time, her heart pounding in her chest as she searches the shadows for any sign of danger.
