Round 620 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Varikka's body crashes into the cold stone floor, her head spinning from the fall. She lies there, dazed and disoriented, as the whispering voices grow louder, their malevolent intentions clear. Suddenly, the beam of light flickers and dies, plunging the tunnel into darkness. The Guardian's voice echoes through the tunnel, its tone dripping with malice. "Welcome, little one. You will join us in the darkness."
My heart nearly stops at the sound of Varikka's fall, a fresh wave of icy terror flooding my veins as her screams echo through the darkness. I know we can't afford to lose her - not like this, not after everything we've been through. I scramble over the rubble and debris with renewed urgency, my hands and knees scraping against the rough stone as I climb higher and higher. The path is treacherous, littered with obstacles that threaten to send me tumbling into the abyss at any moment. But I push forward, driven by a desperate need to reach Varikka before it's too late. As I climb, the sound of whispering grows louder, the malevolent voices seeming to close in from all sides. I feel a chill run down my spine as I realize that whatever lurks in this darkness is aware of my presence, and I know that I must be on my guard at every turn. But I will not let fear stop me from reaching Varikka. I know that she is counting on me, and I will fight through whatever obstacles stand in my way, whether they be physical or supernatural in nature. And when I find her, we will face whatever challenges await us together, as a team and as friends. With that thought in mind, I push myself forward, my hands gripping the rough stone walls as I climb higher and higher into the darkness of the tower's depths. The path ahead is long and uncertain, but I know that Varikka needs me, and I will not let her down no matter what it takes. I just hope we're not too late.
I groan in pain as I lie there on the cold stone floor, my head spinning from the fall. The whispering voices grow louder, their malevolent intentions clear. I can feel the presence of something ancient and evil closing in around me, and I know that I am in grave danger.
But even as fear threatens to overwhelm me, I feel a surge of anger rising up within my chest. How dare this creature try to claim me as its own? I am Varrika, a veteran soldier who has faced down far worse than some measly tentacle monster. I will not go down without a fight.
With a grunt of effort, I push myself to my feet, my hand reaching for the heavy mace at my side. The weapon feels solid and comforting in my grip, a reminder of all the battles I have fought and won. I know that Merrin is out there somewhere, trying to reach me, and I will not let her down.
Taking a deep breath, I steel myself for what is to come. The darkness closes in around me, but I do not fear it. For I am Varrika, and I will fight to my last breath to escape this nightmare and return to the light.
