Varikka's mace scrapes against the stone floor as she pushes open the small door, and she stumbles out into a narrow corridor, her injured ankle throbbing in protest. Merrin catches her by the arm, helping her steady herself. The Guardian's voice rings out from the doorway, his tone one of surprise rather than anger, "You shouldn't have done that."

As Varikka takes a step forward, her foot slips on a patch of slick stone, and she almost falls. Merrin quickly grabs her by the arm, holding her steady. The Guardian's voice echoes behind them, "I'll give you one chance to leave peacefully. If I see you make a move, I'll stop this collapse." Varikka winces in pain, her ankle throbbing with each movement, and she knows they must proceed carefully.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

Merrin: I lunge forward, grabbing Varikka's arm just in time to keep her from falling. My heart races as I steady her, knowing that we can't afford to lose our footing now. "Easy there," I mutter, my eyes darting around the narrow corridor. "We need to be careful. This floor is slick with... something."

I glance back over my shoulder, catching a glimpse of the Guardian's silhouette framed in the doorway behind us. "He's right," I say, my voice low and urgent. "We can't afford to make any sudden moves. Not with your ankle in that state." I tighten my grip on Varikka's arm, using my free hand to steady myself against the damp stone wall.

As we take another cautious step forward, I can feel the weight of the tower bearing down on us, as if the very walls are closing in around us. "We need to find a way out of here," I say, my voice filled with determination. "And we need to do it quickly. Before that bastard changes his mind and decides to let this whole place come crashing down on top of us."

I take another step forward, my eyes fixed on the darkness ahead. I know that we're not out of danger yet. But I also know that we have to keep moving if we want to survive. And as we make our way deeper into the unknown, I can't shake the feeling that something even worse awaits us around the next corner.

I wince in pain as I put weight on my injured ankle, but I bite back a groan. "Thank you," I mutter to Merrin, my voice strained. "But we don't have time to stop now. That bastard won't let us leave peacefully for long." I grip my mace tighter, the rough wood digging into my palm as I limped forward.

As we make our way deeper into the tunnel, I can feel the weight of the tower above, as if the very walls are closing in around us. "We need to find a way out of here," I say, my voice filled with determination. "And we need to do it quickly. Before that Guardian decides to let this whole place come crashing down on top of us." I glance at Merrin, taking in her determined expression. "You've been a good friend to me," I say, my voice filled with gratitude. "I don't know what I would have done without you back there."

But even as I speak the words, I can feel a nagging sense of unease settling in the pit of my stomach. We've made it this far, but I know that we're not out of danger yet. And as we round another corner, I can't shake the feeling that something even worse awaits us around the next bend.

I tighten my grip on my mace, my knuckles white as I prepare for whatever might be lying in wait. We have to keep moving forward, no matter what stands in our way. Because if we don't, we'll be buried alive beneath the rubble of this cursed tower, and all our struggles will have been for nothing.
