Round 609 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The Guardian nods, his expression unreadable. "Very well. You can try to reason with me." He gestures to a nearby console, where a countdown timer has appeared. "You have 30 seconds to convince me."
Varikka's eyes widen in alarm as she glances at Merrin. The air is thick with tension, and the sound of falling debris echoes through the tunnel. Suddenly, a loud rumble shakes the ground, making it harder for Varikka to stand. Her injured ankle throbs in pain, and she knows she can't take much more. The Guardian takes a step closer, his sword glinting in the dim light. "Speak quickly, before it's too late." He lowers his voice, his words dripping with malice. "If you fail, the collapse will proceed, and you will all die. I will enjoy watching you struggle to escape the rubble."
Merrin steps forward, her eyes locked on the Guardian. "We're not going to give up," she says, her voice firm. "We'll find a way out of here, no matter what it takes."
I step forward, my eyes locked on the Guardian. My hand tightens around the hilt of my crossbow, but I don't raise it. Not yet. "Listen," I say, my voice firm and steady. "We're not going to give up. We'll find a way out of here, no matter what it takes."
I glance at Varikka, taking in her pained expression and the way she's struggling to keep her balance on her injured ankle. "We're a team," I continue, turning back to face the Guardian. "And we look out for each other. So whatever beef you have with us, whatever reason you've got for wanting us to fail, it's not going to work. We'll get through this together."
I take another step forward, my eyes never leaving the Guardian's face. "So here's what's going to happen. You're going to stop this collapse, and you're going to let us leave this tower in peace. Because if you don't, we'll find a way to beat you anyway. And trust me, you don't want to see what we're capable of when we're cornered."
I take a deep breath, my heart pounding in my chest as I wait for the Guardian's response. I know that we're outmatched and outnumbered, but I also know that we've come too far to give up now. Whatever happens next, I'm ready to face it head-on.
I step forward, my hand gripping my mace tightly. The pain in my ankle is excruciating, but I ignore it. My eyes are fixed on the Guardian, my gaze unwavering. "Listen, you son of a bitch," I growl through clenched teeth. "We've made it this far, and we're not about to let some two-bit thug stop us now."
I take another step forward, my voice growing louder as I speak. "I don't know what your deal is, but I don't care. You want to see us struggle? Fine. But we'll struggle our way right out of this godforsaken tower, and when we do, you better believe we're going to come back for you."
I turn to Merrin, my eyes softening for a moment. "Thanks for having my back," I say, my voice filled with gratitude. "But this is my fight now. You've done enough."
I turn back to the Guardian, my face set in a determined expression. "So what's it going to be, asshole? You gonna let us go, or do we have to beat the living shit out of you first?"
