Round 603 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As we stumble forward, the torches on the walls sputter and die, plunging us into darkness. We hear the sound of rushing water growing louder, and I fumble in my pack for a spare torch, trying to find one that still has fuel left. Suddenly, Varikka stumbles, her injured ankle twisting beneath her. "Shit," she mutters, wincing in pain. "I think I need to sit down."
Merrin rushes to support her weight, her eyes scanning the tunnel for any signs of instability. "We need to find a safe place to rest," she says, her voice low and urgent. "This ankle is going to take a lot longer to heal than we thought."
I help Varikka to a safe spot on the floor, my heart pounding in my chest as I feel the weight of the tower pressing down on us from above. "Careful," I mutter, my eyes scanning the tunnel for any signs of instability. "We don't want to end up like Jeane and Halie."
As we sit together, I take a moment to catch my breath and assess our situation. The tunnel is dark, with only the faint glow of the torches lighting our way. The air is thick with the scent of damp earth and mold, and I can hear the sound of rushing water growing louder in the distance.
Varikka winces as she tries to put weight on her injured ankle, and I can see the pain in her eyes. "How bad is it?" I ask, my voice low and concerned.
I grit my teeth as Merrin helps me to the ground, my ankle throbbing with pain. "It's not good," I mutter, wincing as I try to put weight on it. "I don't think I can walk on it for a while."
As we sit in the darkness of the tunnel, I can feel the weight of the tower pressing down on us from above. The sound of rushing water grows louder, and I know that we can't stay here forever. "We need to keep moving," I say, my voice strained with pain and exhaustion. "But I don't know if I can make it much further like this."
I reach for my pack, fumbling in the darkness for my spare torch. As I strike the flint against the steel, a small flame flickers to life, casting eerie shadows on the walls of the tunnel. "We need to find a way out of here," I say, my voice low and urgent. "But we can't risk falling into any more traps or pitfalls. We need to be careful."
As I try to stand, my ankle buckles beneath me, and I fall back to the ground with a cry of pain. "Shit," I mutter, wincing as I try to put weight on it. "I don't think I can walk on it for a while."
I grimace as Varikka falls back to the ground, her injured ankle clearly unable to support her weight. "We can't stay here," I say, my voice tight with urgency. "The tower is coming down around us."
I glance around the tunnel, trying to find a way forward. The sound of rushing water grows louder, and I know that we need to keep moving if we want to survive. "Can you crawl?" I ask, kneeling down to help Varikka to her feet. Varikka nods, wincing as she tries to put weight on her injured ankle. "I think so," she says, her voice strained with pain and exhaustion. "But it's going to be slow."
I nod, my mind racing as I try to come up with a plan. "Alright," I say, helping Varikka to her feet. "Let's see if we can find a way out of here. But we need to be careful. We can't risk falling into any more traps or pitfalls."
As we start to make our way down the tunnel, I keep my eyes peeled for any signs of danger. The air is thick with the scent of damp earth and mold, and I can feel the weight of the tower pressing down on us from above. But we have no choice but to keep moving forward, even if it means putting ourselves in danger. Varikka grunts as she tries to crawl along the tunnel, her injured ankle clearly causing her pain. "We need to find a way to stabilize this ankle," I say, my voice low and urgent. "Otherwise, we're not going to make it out of here alive."
I glance around the tunnel, trying to spot anything that might be useful. But in the darkness, it's hard to see more than a few feet ahead. "We need some light," I mutter, fumbling in my pack for a spare torch. "And maybe some bandages or something to stabilize that ankle."
As we continue to make our way down the tunnel, I keep my eyes peeled for any signs of danger. The sound of rushing water grows louder, and I know that we need to keep moving if we want to survive. But with Varikka's injured ankle and the instability of the tunnel, it's going to be a slow and dangerous journey. "We need to find a way out of here," I say, my voice low and urgent.
