Round 601 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As we continue down the tunnel, the sound of running water grows louder, and the air begins to fill with a faint mist. Suddenly, the ground gives way beneath my feet, and I find myself tumbling forward, landing hard on the rocky floor. The torch in my hand flickers wildly, casting eerie shadows on the walls. As I struggle to regain my footing, I feel a jolt of pain from my injured ankle. Merrin rushes to my side, helping me up and supporting my weight. "Be careful," she warns, her eyes scanning the tunnel for any signs of instability. The tunnel continues to slope downward, and we can hear the sound of rushing water growing louder still. We're not sure where we are or where this tunnel leads, but we know we need to keep moving if we want to survive. The Guardian's trap is still active, and we don't want to become its next victims. I glance around, trying to get a better sense of our surroundings. The walls are made of rough-hewn stone, and the air is thick with the scent of damp earth and mold. Suddenly, I notice that the mist is starting to clear, revealing a series of ancient carvings etched into the wall. They appear to be a warning, but I'm not sure what they say.
I help Varikka to her feet, my heart pounding in my chest as I feel the weight of the tower pressing down on us from above. "Careful," I mutter, my eyes scanning the tunnel for any signs of instability. "We don't want to end up like Jeane and Halie."
As we continue down the tunnel, the sound of rushing water grows louder, and the air begins to fill with a faint mist. Suddenly, the ground gives way beneath Varikka's feet, and she tumbles forward, landing hard on the rocky floor. "Shit!" I exclaim, rushing to her side and helping her up. "Are you alright?"
Varikka nods, wincing as she puts weight on her injured ankle. "I'll live," she grunts, leaning heavily on me for support. "But we need to be more careful. This place is a death trap."
I glance around, trying to get a better sense of our surroundings. The walls are made of rough-hewn stone, and the air is thick with the scent of damp earth and mold. Suddenly, I notice that the mist is starting to clear, revealing a series of ancient carvings etched into the wall. "Hey, Varikka," I call out, pointing to the carvings, "check this out. Looks like some kind of warning."
Varikka limps over, squinting at the carvings in the dim torchlight. "Can't make out what it says," she mutters, running a hand over the worn stone. "But it doesn't look good. We should keep moving."
I nod, helping Varikka back to her feet and supporting her weight as we continue down the tunnel. The sound of rushing water grows louder still, and I can feel the ground sloping downward beneath our feet. "Where do you think this leads?" I ask, my voice strained with exhaustion and fear.
Varikka shakes her head, wincing as she puts weight on her injured ankle. "No idea," she grunts. "But it can't be any worse than what we've been through already. We just need to keep our eyes peeled for any more traps or pitfalls."
I nod, my heart pounding in my chest as I feel the weight of the tower pressing down on us from above. "Alright," I say, my voice strained but determined. "Let's see what we're dealing with here. But be on your guard, Varikka. This place is full of tricks and traps, and I don't want us to fall into any more of them."
With that, I stagger forward, my hand reaching for the wall to steady myself. The ground beneath my feet is slippery and treacherous, and I can feel the weight of my injuries pulling at every muscle in my body.
I squint at the ancient carvings, trying to make out their meaning in the flickering torchlight. The warning seems clear enough - danger ahead, proceed with caution. I turn to Merrin, my brow furrowed with concern. "This doesn't look good, Merrin," I mutter, my voice strained with fatigue and fear. "But what choice do we have? We can't go back the way we came."
I take a tentative step forward, wincing as I put weight on my injured ankle. The ground beneath my feet is slippery and treacherous, and I can feel the weight of the tower pressing down on us from above. "Just keep your eyes peeled for any more traps or pitfalls," I warn, my hand reaching out to steady myself against the wall. "We don't want to end up like Jeane and Halie."
As we continue down the tunnel, the sound of rushing water grows louder still, and I can feel the ground sloping downward beneath our feet. The air is thick with the scent of damp earth and mold, and I can feel a sense of unease settling over me like a shroud. "Where do you think this leads?" I ask, my voice strained with exhaustion and fear.
Merrin shrugs, her eyes scanning the tunnel for any signs of danger. "No idea," she replies, her voice tight with tension. "But it can't be any worse than what we've been through already. We just need to keep our eyes peeled and stay alert."
I nod, my heart pounding in my chest as I feel the weight of the tower pressing down on us from above. "Alright," I say, my voice strained but determined. "Let's see what we're dealing with here. But be on your guard, Merrin. This place is full of tricks and traps, and I don't want us to fall into any more of them."
With that, I stagger forward, my hand reaching for the wall to steady myself. The ground beneath my feet is slippery and treacherous, and I can feel the weight of my injuries pulling at every muscle in my body. "Just keep moving," I mutter under my breath, my eyes fixed on the tunnel ahead. "We'll find a way out of this, one step at a time."
