As we proceed down the narrow passageway, the ground beneath us grows increasingly unstable. I can hear the sound of rocks shifting and the air fills with the smell of damp earth. The torches cast eerie shadows on the walls, making it seem like the ancient stones themselves are moving against us. Suddenly, a loud crack echoes through the chamber, and the ground gives way beneath Varikka's feet. She screams in pain as she falls, her body tumbling down a steep slope of rubble. Merrin rushes to her side, grabbing her arm and pulling her back up onto the passageway. "Varikka, hold on!" she shouts, her voice urgent. The Guardian's voice rings out once more, its tone dripping with malevolence. "You will not escape this place alive."

Immediate pressure: We need to stabilize Varikka's ankle before it's too late, but the Guardian's control of the situation makes every move a gamble against the crushing weight of the tower's collapse.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

The ground gives way beneath Varikka's feet and I lunge forward, grabbing her arm just in time. Her body tumbles down the steep slope of rubble, but I pull her back up onto the passageway with all my strength.

"Varikka!" I cry out, my heart pounding in my chest. "Are you alright?!"

She winces in pain, clutching at her ankle. "It's my ankle," she grits out through clenched teeth. "I think it's sprained."

I glance around the passageway, my eyes darting to the crumbling walls and the shadows beyond. "We need to stabilize it before we can keep moving," I mutter under my breath.

I rummage through my inventory, searching for anything that might help. My hands brush against a length of rope and I pull it out, holding it up in front of Varikka. "Here, let me bind your ankle with this," I say, my voice steady even as panic threatens to overwhelm me.

I work quickly, tying the rope around Varikka's ankle and securing it tightly. The Guardian's voice echoes through the chamber once more, its tone dripping with malevolence. "You will not escape this place alive."

I feel a wave of fear wash over me, but I push it aside. We have no choice but to keep moving forward if we want to survive. So I help Varikka to her feet, supporting her weight as we make our way deeper into the passageway.

The ground beneath us is slick with moisture, and I can hear the sound of water dripping from somewhere in the distance. The air is thick with the smell of mold and decay, and I can see the faint outline of bioluminescent mushrooms clinging to the walls.

But even as fear threatens to overwhelm me, I push it aside. We have no choice but to keep moving forward if we want to survive this place. So I take a deep breath, grip my mace tighter, and step into the darkness ahead, helping Varikka along as best I can.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

I grit my teeth against the pain radiating from my ankle as Merrin helps me to my feet. I know we can't afford to waste time, but I can barely put weight on my foot. The Guardian's words echo in my mind, cold and detached, and I feel a wave of frustration wash over me.

I look around the passageway, my eyes scanning the crumbling walls and the shadows beyond. "We need to keep moving," I mutter under my breath, "but we can't risk further injury."

I glance down at my ankle, still bound with rope from Merrin's quick thinking. "I can manage for now," I say, testing my weight on it gingerly, "but we need to find a way out of this place soon. The tower won't hold forever."

As if on cue, another section of the passageway collapses, sending a shower of rock and dust raining down upon us. "Come on," I growl, grabbing Merrin's arm and pulling her along, "we don't have time to waste."
