Varikka's limp slows her to a crawl, and she struggles to keep up with Merrin's pace. The ancient relic in Merrin's hands pulses with energy, casting eerie shadows on the walls as they round a bend in the passage. Suddenly, a loud creaking noise echoes through the corridor, followed by the sound of rocks tumbling down from above.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I feel a wave of terror wash over me as I hear the rocks tumbling down from above. The passage shakes violently, sending cracks spidering across the walls. "Varikka, hurry!" I shout, reaching back to grab her arm. "The whole thing's coming down!"

But Varikka is too slow, her injured ankle pinning her in place as the rocks rain down around us. I can feel the weight of the collapsing tunnel pressing down on me, threatening to crush the life out of my body. With a burst of strength, I throw myself forward, dragging Varikka along with me. We stumble through the narrow passage, ducking and weaving to avoid the falling debris. The air is thick with dust and the roar of stone grinding against stone. I can feel the relic pulsing in my hands, its energy surging through my veins like liquid fire. Suddenly, the passageway opens up into a larger chamber. I pull Varikka through the opening just as the tunnel behind us collapses with a deafening crash. We stagger to our feet, coughing and sputtering in the cloud of dust that fills the air. "Varikka, are you alright?" I ask, my voice hoarse with fear. "I...I think so," she gasps, struggling to catch her breath. "But Merrin, what was that? What's happening to this place?"

I shake my head, my eyes wide with disbelief. "I don't know," I admit, my voice trembling. "But whatever it is, it's not good. We need to keep moving, before the whole tower comes down on top of us."

I take a step forward, the relic still clutched tightly in my hands. The chamber ahead is dark and foreboding, but I know we have no choice but to press on. The Guardian could be anywhere, waiting to ambush us at any moment. But as I move deeper into the shadows, I can't shake the feeling that something even worse lies waiting for us at the end of this journey. And with Varikka's injury slowing us down, I fear we may not survive whatever horrors the tower has in store.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

I wince as I struggle to my feet, my injured ankle screaming in pain. The chamber around us is dark and foreboding, the air thick with dust and the weight of centuries pressing down on us.

"We need to keep moving," I grunt through gritted teeth, grabbing Merrin's arm for support. "The Guardian could be anywhere, and we don't know how much time we have before the whole place comes down on top of us."

I take a tentative step forward, my mace gripped tightly in my hand. The relic in Merrin's hands pulses with an otherworldly energy, casting eerie shadows on the walls around us. I can feel the weight of the ancient artifact pressing down on me, its presence both comforting and terrifying at the same time.

As we make our way deeper into the chamber, I can't shake the feeling that something is watching us from the shadows. The air is thick with a sense of impending doom, and I can feel my heart pounding in my chest.

"Merrin, be careful," I mutter, my voice low and urgent. "I don't like this place. It feels...wrong."

But Merrin is already moving ahead, her eyes fixed on some unseen target in the darkness ahead. I can see the tension in her shoulders, the way she holds herself as if ready to spring into action at any moment.

I take a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever lies ahead. Whatever horrors this tower has in store for us, we'll face them together. And with the ancient relic in Merrin's hands and my mace at my side, I'm ready for anything.

I limp forward, my eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of movement. The chamber stretches out before us, a maze of dark corridors and hidden dangers. But we have no choice but to press on, even as the weight of the collapsing tower presses down on us from above.
