Merrin's eyes dart towards me, her grip on the ancient relic tightening as she strains to control its power. The Guardian takes another step closer, its eyes fixed on us with an unnerving intensity. The ground shudders violently beneath our feet, sending a wave of debris crashing down on the rubble already scattered about. The torches on the walls flicker and dim, casting eerie shadows that dance across the chamber like grasping fingers. I can feel the air charged with electricity as the Guardian's power surges out of control, its energy crackling like a living thing.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I feel the ground shaking beneath my feet, and I know we're in serious trouble. The Guardian's words echo in my ears: "You will not leave this place alive." I tighten my grip on the ancient relic, feeling its power surging through me like a live wire.

But as Varikka calls out to me, pointing to that crack in the wall, I know she's right. We can't stay here and fight the Guardian. We need to run, now, while we still have a chance.

I take a step towards the crack, but the ground shifts beneath my feet. I stumble, nearly losing my balance as I struggle to keep hold of the relic. The Guardian's eyes flash, and I know we're running out of time.

"Varikka, wait!" I call out, my voice barely audible over the sound of falling rubble. "We need to be careful! That relic is too unstable!"

But it's too late. Varikka is already limping towards the crack, her mace raised and ready to fight if the Guardian tries to stop us. I follow close behind, my heart pounding in my chest as I try to keep my footing on the treacherous ground.

As we reach the crack, I peer inside, trying to see if there's a way through. The passage is narrow, barely wide enough for us to squeeze through side by side. But it looks like it leads deeper into the tower, away from the Guardian and the crumbling chamber.

"This is our only chance," I mutter, more to myself than to Varikka. "We have to make it work."

I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what's to come. Then, with a final glance back at the Guardian, I slip into the passage, following Varikka into the unknown depths of the tower.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

I feel Varikka's presence behind me as I squeeze through the narrow passage, my heart pounding in my chest. The ground beneath our feet is treacherous, and the air is thick with dust and debris from the collapsing chamber.

As we make our way deeper into the tower, I can't shake the feeling that we're being watched. The Guardian's words echo in my mind: "You will not leave this place alive." I know it's still out there, waiting for us to make a mistake.

I glance back at Varikka, seeing the determination in her eyes as she limps along behind me. Her ankle is clearly bothering her, but she doesn't let it slow her down. She's a true fighter, through and through.

"Varikka," I whisper, keeping my voice low. "We need to be careful. The Guardian could be anywhere, waiting to ambush us."

Varikka nods, her grip tightening on her mace. "I know," she mutters. "But we can't go back now. We have to keep moving forward, no matter what."

I nod, knowing she's right. We have no choice but to press on, even as the tower crumbles around us and the Guardian lurks in the shadows.

As we continue through the passage, I find myself wondering what lies ahead. The ancient relic in my hands seems to pulse with energy, almost as if it's guiding us towards something. But I can't shake the feeling that whatever we find at the end of this journey, it won't be good.

Still, we have no choice but to keep moving forward. And so we do, one painful step at a time, as the tower groans and creaks around us like a dying beast.
