Round 579 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The Guardian's voice echoes through the chamber, its tone dripping with malice. "You will not leave this place alive." The ground shudders violently, and a section of the wall behind Varikka and Merrin collapses, sending rubble tumbling towards them. The chamber is now even more treacherous, with loose rocks and debris scattered everywhere. As the dust settles, you notice that Merrin is struggling to control the ancient relic, its power surging out of control and casting eerie shadows on the walls. The relic's energy seems to be attracting the Guardian's attention, drawing it closer to the duo. Varikka readies her mace, preparing to defend herself and Merrin against the Guardian's attack.
I feel a chill run down my spine as the Guardian's words echo through the chamber. I know we're in grave danger, and I can sense Varikka tensing beside me, ready for a fight.
But as I look at the ancient relic in my hands, I hesitate. Its power is surging wildly, and I'm not sure what will happen if I try to use it against the Guardian. The last thing we need is to bring the whole place down on top of us.
I glance over at Varikka, seeing the determination in her eyes as she raises her mace. But even with her strength and skill, I know that we're outmatched here. We need to be smart if we want to survive this.
I turn back to the Guardian, my mind racing as I try to come up with a plan. The ground is shaking violently now, and I can hear the sound of more rubble falling from the ceiling. We need to move, and fast.
I take a step forward, keeping my distance from the Guardian as I scan the chamber for any sign of an escape route. But everywhere I look, all I see are piles of rubble and debris, blocking our path.
I feel a wave of despair wash over me as I realize just how trapped we are. The Guardian's eyes bore into mine, its energy growing stronger with each passing second. I know that we're running out of time, and that we need to act now if we want to survive this nightmare.
I feel the ground shaking beneath my feet, and I know we're in serious trouble. The Guardian's words echo in my ears: "You will not leave this place alive." I tighten my grip on my mace, ready to fight for our lives.
But as I look around the chamber, I can see that we're trapped. Rubble blocks every exit, and the ceiling is crumbling overhead. We need a plan, and we need it fast.
I turn to Merrin, who's struggling with that damn relic. "Merrin, what in the nine hells are you doing with that thing?" I hiss under my breath. "We can't risk bringing the whole place down on top of us!"
I know we're outmatched here. That Guardian is way too powerful for us to take on directly. We need to be smart, use our brains as much as our weapons.
I scan the chamber again, searching for any way out. And that's when I see it - a small crack in the far wall, barely visible through the dust and debris. It could be a hidden passage, or just a flaw in the stone. But it's our best chance right now.
"Merrin!" I call out, pointing to the crack. "Over there! We need to check that out!"
I take a step towards it, but the ground shifts beneath my feet. My ankle screams in pain, and I stumble, nearly falling to the ground. The Guardian's eyes flash, and I know we're running out of time.
I grit my teeth, forcing myself to stand upright. "Come on," I mutter through clenched jaws. "We've got to move, now!"
I start to limp towards the crack, my mace raised and ready to fight if the Guardian tries to stop us. But every step is agony, and I can feel my strength fading fast.
This is our only chance. We have to make it work, or we're dead for sure.
