Round 577 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The chamber shudders violently, and a section of the wall behind Varikka and Merrin collapses, sending rubble tumbling towards them. The Guardian's eyes flash with energy as it seizes this opportunity to move closer, its presence filling the space. Varikka stumbles backward, her sprained ankle protesting the movement, while Merrin readies the ancient sword in her hand.
I brace myself against the wall as the chamber shakes violently, sending rubble tumbling towards us. The Guardian's eyes flash with an ominous energy that seems to grow stronger with each passing second.
I raise the ancient sword above my head, its otherworldly glow intensifying as I prepare to strike at our enemy. But before I can bring the blade down, a blast of energy erupts from its tip, knocking both Varikka and I off balance.
I watch in amazement as the sword's power surges out of control, casting eerie shadows on the walls of the chamber. The acrid smell of ozone fills the air, and I feel a sense of unease wash over me as I realize that we may have unleashed something far more dangerous than we ever could have imagined.
But even as I struggle to regain my footing, I can't shake the feeling that we're running out of time. The ground continues to shudder and crumble around us, and I know that we need to find a way out of this chamber before it collapses entirely.
I brace myself against the wall as the chamber shakes violently, sending rubble tumbling towards us. The Guardian's eyes flash with an ominous energy that seems to grow stronger with each passing second.
I reach for my mace, ready to defend myself and Merrin, but before I can move into position, a blast of energy erupts from the sword in Merrin's hands. It knocks both of us off balance, and I watch in amazement as the sword's power surges out of control, casting eerie shadows on the walls.
The acrid smell of ozone fills the air, and I feel a sense of unease wash over me as I realize that we may have unleashed something far more dangerous than we ever could have imagined. The ground continues to shudder and crumble around us, and I know that we need to find a way out of this chamber before it collapses entirely.
I turn to Merrin, my eyes wide with concern. "What in the nine hells was that?" I ask, my voice strained with urgency. "We can't risk using that thing again. It could bring the whole place down on top of us."
I glance around the chamber, my eyes scanning the walls for any sign of a hidden exit or passage. But as I search, I can't shake the feeling that there's something important in this room, something we need to find before we leave.
I reach out to grab another ancient relic from one of the pedestals, tucking it into my belt alongside the other artifacts we've collected. The weight of these objects feels heavy against my hip, a reminder of the danger that still lurks in this chamber.
And as I take another step towards the far wall, I feel a wave of pain wash over me, the agony in my ankle intensifying as the ground beneath us trembles once more. "Damn it all," I mutter under my breath, gritting my teeth against the pain. "We're not getting out of here anytime soon, are we?"
But even as I voice my doubts, I know that we can't give up. We've come too far to turn back now, and the thought of leaving these ancient relics behind is almost unbearable.
I turn back to Merrin, my expression grim but determined. "We'll find a way out of here," I say, my voice steady and resolute. "We just need to keep searching. There has to be something we're missing."
And so, with a heavy heart but a steely resolve, I turn back to the chamber, ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead. Whatever it takes, I know that we'll find a way to survive. And with Merrin by my side, I know that we have a fighting chance.
I take another step towards the far wall, my eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of a hidden passage or secret door. The ground continues to shudder and crumble around us, but I refuse to let it deter me from my goal.
