Round 575 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Varikka tucks the ancient sword into her belt, the chamber shudders violently once more. The sound of crashing stone grows louder, and the ground beneath their feet trembles. Suddenly, a section of the wall behind them begins to crumble, sending rubble tumbling towards them. Merrin grabs Varikka's arm, pulling her towards the far wall just in time. However, the Guardian seizes this opportunity to move closer, its presence filling the space. With a swift motion, it raises a hand, and Varikka feels a blast of energy wash over her, sending her stumbling back. The ancient sword on her belt begins to glow with an otherworldly light, pulsing in time with the Guardian's energy. The air is thick with tension as the party realizes they must act quickly to escape before the structural collapse destroys everything.
As the chamber shudders violently, sending rubble tumbling towards us, I feel a surge of panic welling up inside me. The sound of crashing stone grows louder, more insistent, as the structural collapse becomes imminent. I grab Varikka's arm, pulling her towards the far wall just in time.
But as we reach the wall, I realize that there's no door, no hidden passage, nothing but solid stone. My heart sinks as I turn back to Varikka, my expression grim but determined. "We need to keep moving," I say, my voice steady and resolute. "There has to be another way out of this place."
As I speak, I feel a blast of energy wash over me, sending me stumbling back. I glance up at the Guardian, my eyes narrowing as I see it raise its hand once more. The air is thick with tension, and I know that we have only moments before the entire place comes crashing down around us.
I turn to Varikka, my voice low and urgent. "We need to find a way out of here, now," I say, my eyes scanning the chamber for any sign of an exit. "There has to be something we're missing."
As I speak, I feel a glimmer of hope rising in my chest. The ancient sword on Varikka's belt begins to glow with an otherworldly light, pulsing in time with the Guardian's energy. I reach out to grab it, my fingers closing around the hilt as I feel a surge of power coursing through my veins.
With a swift motion, I raise the sword above my head, my eyes fixed on the Guardian as I prepare to strike. "Ready yourself," I say, my voice steady and determined. "We're getting out of here one way or another."
I feel a surge of adrenaline coursing through my veins as Merrin raises the ancient sword above her head, its otherworldly glow pulsing in time with the Guardian's energy. I know that we're running out of time, that the entire place could come crashing down around us at any moment.
But as I watch Merrin prepare to strike, I feel a sense of unease wash over me. The sword in her hands seems to be responding to the Guardian's presence, its power growing stronger with each passing second. And I can't shake the feeling that using it against the Guardian could have unforeseen consequences.
I reach out to grab Merrin's arm, my voice low and urgent. "Wait," I say, my eyes fixed on the sword in her hands. "I don't know if we should use that thing. We don't know what it is or what it can do."
I glance around the chamber, my eyes scanning the rows of ancient pedestals for any sign of another way out. "There has to be something else we can do," I say, my voice strained with urgency. "We can't risk using that sword without knowing more about it."
As I speak, I feel a wave of pain wash over me, the agony in my ankle intensifying as the ground beneath us trembles once more. But I push through it, knowing that we don't have much time.
I turn back to Merrin, my expression grim but determined. "Help me find another way out," I say, my voice steady and resolute. "We can't stay here, but we can't risk using that sword without knowing more about it."
And so, with a heavy heart but a steely resolve, I turn back to the chamber, ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead. Whatever it takes, I know that we'll find a way to survive. And with Merrin by my side, I know that we have a fighting chance.
I take a deep breath, steeling myself for the effort required to search for another exit. "Let's split up," I say, my voice low and urgent. "You search over there, and I'll look over here. We need to find something fast before this whole place comes down on top of us."
With that, I begin to make my way towards the far side of the chamber, my eyes scanning the walls for any sign of a hidden door or passage. The sound of crumbling stone grows louder with each passing second, and I know that we don't have much time.
But as I search, I can't shake the feeling that there's something important in this chamber, something we need to find before we leave. And as I reach out to grab another ancient relic from one of the pedestals, I feel a surge of energy wash over me, a sense that this object holds some hidden power or secret.
I tuck it into my belt alongside the other relics we've collected, my mind racing with possibilities and theories. "Keep searching," I call out to Merrin, my voice strained but determined. "We're getting close. I can feel it."
