Varikka's ankle throbs in agony as she puts weight on it, her face contorted in pain. The incline ends at the base of a large, rusty door that now looms before them, its surface covered in a thick layer of dust and cobwebs. Elric's faint voice echoes from a nearby alcove, "Time is almost up... You will not escape this place." The Guardian's warning grows louder, "You must stabilize Varikka's ankle now!"

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I move quickly to Varikka's side, my heart racing as I take in the severity of her injury. "Varikka, we need to stabilize your ankle now," I say urgently, my voice low. "We can't afford to lose you."

I kneel down beside her, my hands shaking slightly as I examine the damage to her leg. The rusty door looms before us, a sense of unease washing over me as Elric's words echo in my mind.

"Can you hold still for a moment?" I ask, my voice soft but firm. "I need to check the extent of the damage."

I reach out, my fingers gently probing the swelling around Varikka's ankle. She winces in pain, but I press on, determined to assess the situation properly.

"Alright, I think we can treat this," I say, my mind racing as I consider our options. "But we need to move quickly. That thing... the Guardian. It's still after us."

I glance back at the rusty door, a sense of foreboding washing over me. "We can't stay here long. We need to find another way out of this place."

I turn back to Varikka, my expression grim but determined. "Can you bear some weight on your leg? I think we can use the rope to make a brace, but we'll need to move slowly and carefully."

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

I grit my teeth against the searing pain in my ankle as Merrin examines the damage. "Damn it," I mutter under my breath, my hands balling into tight knots at my sides. "Of all the times for this to happen..."

I take a deep breath, forcing myself to focus on the present moment. "Alright, let's do what we can," I say, my voice strained but determined. "But we need to keep moving. That thing... it's still out there."

I watch as Merrin begins to work on creating a makeshift brace for my ankle, my eyes darting around the dimly lit corridor. "What about that door?" I ask, nodding towards the rusty portal at the end of the passage. "Could that be a way out?"

As I speak, Elric's voice echoes once more from the shadows, his words sending a chill down my spine. "Time is almost up... You will not escape this place." I feel a surge of anger welling up inside me, my hand instinctively moving to the hilt of my mace.

"Screw that," I growl, my voice low and dangerous. "We're not going to sit here and wait for whatever's coming. We'll find our own way out of this place."

I turn back to Merrin, my expression grim but determined. "Let's get this brace on and keep moving," I say, my voice soft but firm. "We've got a long way to go, and I'm not about to let some ghost or whatever the hell that thing is stop us."
