As Varikka follows Elric deeper into the darkness, she can't help but feel a sense of unease. The torch's flickering light casts eerie shadows on the walls, making it seem like the very stones are moving of their own accord. Elric moves with an unnatural gait, his eyes glowing with an otherworldly intensity in the dim light. Suddenly, the ground gives way beneath Varikka's feet, and she finds herself sliding down a steep, slick chute. She manages to grab onto a rusty handhold, her knuckles white with tension as she hangs suspended in mid-air. The sound of rushing water grows louder, and Varikka knows she must act fast to avoid being swept away. Immediate pressure or decision point: Will Varikka try to climb back up the chute, or wait for Elric's guidance?

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

Merrin's heart pounds as she clings desperately to the rusty handhold, the sound of rushing water growing louder by the second. She can feel the slick concrete beneath her feet, threatening to sweep her away at any moment, and she knows that she must act fast if she wants to survive.

With a grunt of effort, Merrin hauls herself up onto the ledge, her arms shaking from the exertion. For a moment, she just lies there, gasping for air as she tries to catch her breath. But then, as the sound of Varikka's fall echoes in the darkness below, Merrin knows that she can't waste any more time.

She pushes herself to her feet, her mace clutched tight in her trembling hands. And as she peers into the shadows ahead, Merrin sees it - a faint flicker of light, glimmering through the darkness like a beacon in the night.

It's Varikka's torch, she realizes, held high by the dwarf as she moves through the twisting tunnels ahead. And even though Merrin knows that Elric can't be trusted, she also knows that they need Varikka's strength if they're going to get out of this place alive.

So with a deep breath, Merrin steps forward into the darkness, her eyes fixed on the distant glow of Varikka's torch. She knows that whatever awaits them at the end of this journey, it can't be good. But she also knows that they have no choice but to face it head-on, or risk being dragged down into the depths by the churning waters forever.

As Merrin follows Varikka deeper into the shadows, she can't shake the feeling that something is wrong. The air feels thick and heavy, like a weight pressing down on her chest, and the walls seem to close in around them with each passing step. But still, she presses on, driven by the distant glow of Varikka's torch and the faint hope that it might lead them to safety.

And as they move deeper into the darkness ahead, Merrin can't help but wonder what other horrors await them in this accursed place. Will they find a way out, or will they be trapped here forever, lost in the maze of tunnels and corridors beneath the tower?
