As Varikka and Merrin press on through the treacherous passage, the ground gives another ominous creak, causing the tunnel walls to shudder violently. Elric's eyes dart towards a nearby pool of churning, greenish-black water, and his voice cuts through the stillness, laced with an undercurrent of urgency. "Faster, now," he whispers, his eyes fixed on the pool. "We must press on before the Guardian finds us."

Merrin's grip on her mace tightens as she peers into the pool, her eyes widening in alarm at the sight of something moving beneath the surface. Varikka nods grimly, her mace at the ready, and together they step forward into the darkness, their hearts pounding in their chests. As they proceed, a loud crack echoes through the tunnel, followed by a section of the ceiling collapsing, sending rocks and debris cascading down around them. The falling rubble blocks the narrow passage, trapping Varikka and Merrin, forcing them to find an alternative route or risk being crushed.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

Merrin's heart leaps into her throat at the sound of the tunnel collapsing behind them, cutting off their escape route. She whirls around, her mace at the ready, but it's too late - the falling rubble blocks the passage completely, leaving them trapped in the treacherous depths of the mountain.

Varikka curses under her breath, her eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of movement. "We're trapped," she hisses, her voice low and urgent. "We've got to find another way out, and fast."

Merrin nods grimly, her eyes fixed on the churning pool nearby. She can feel the tension radiating from Varikka beside her, and she knows they can't afford to let their guard down for even a moment. "Alright," she says softly, her voice barely audible over the groaning of the tunnel walls. "Let's keep moving. But stay sharp - we don't know what we might face down here."

And with a final nod of grim determination, Merrin steps forward into the darkness, her mace at the ready and her senses on high alert. Whatever lies ahead, she knows they can't afford to hesitate. They must press on, no matter the cost, if they want to survive the horrors that lurk in the depths of this accursed mountain.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

Varikka's heart pounds as she stares at the collapsed tunnel, her mind racing. The air is thick with dust and the ominous groaning of shifting stone. She can feel the weight of the mountain pressing down on them, threatening to bury them alive.

Merrin's voice cuts through her thoughts, low and urgent. "We're trapped, Varikka. We need to find another way out, fast."

The dwarf nods grimly, her mace gripped tight in her scarred hands. She knows Merrin is right - they can't afford to waste time here, not with the Guardian closing in and the tunnel collapsing around them.

Elric's voice joins the mix, his words laced with an undercurrent of urgency. "There may be another way," he whispers, his eyes fixed on a narrow opening in the far wall. "But it will not be easy."

Varikka's gaze follows Elric's gesture, her eyes narrowing as she takes in the treacherous path ahead. The opening is barely wide enough for them to squeeze through, and the ground beyond seems to slope down at a sharp angle, disappearing into the darkness.

She takes a deep breath, steeling herself for what lies ahead. "Alright," she says softly, her voice barely audible over the groaning of the tunnel walls. "Let's do this. But stay sharp - we don't know what we might face down here."
