As we round a corner in the tunnel, I hear the sound of rushing water grow louder, and I can feel the air growing colder. Suddenly, Varikka cries out in pain, her ankle twisting beneath her. "I can't... I can't go on," she gasps, her face contorted with agony. The ground beneath us gives a final, ominous creak, and the tunnel starts to collapse inwards. We're forced to move faster, our hearts racing as we stumble forward. I quickly scan our surroundings, desperate for any sign of an escape route. That's when I spot it - a small opening just large enough for us to squeeze through. But as we make a dash for the opening, I hear the Guardian's growl echoing through the tunnel, closer than ever. We're running out of time, and we can't afford to be caught here.

"Varikka, can you move your ankle?" I ask, my voice tight with urgency as I help her to her feet. The tunnel is starting to collapse around us, and we need to keep moving.

Varikka grimaces, but manages to take a few tentative steps forward. "I... I think so," she pants, her face pale with pain. "But it's not easy."

"We don't have a choice," I say firmly, my hand gripping her arm tightly as I guide her towards the small opening in the wall. "That's our only way out."

Together, we stagger forward, our hearts racing as we squeeze through the narrow gap. The tunnel behind us collapses with a deafening roar, sending clouds of dust and debris billowing into the air.

For a moment, we're forced to stop, coughing and sputtering as we try to catch our breath. But there's no time to rest. The sound of rushing water echoes through the chamber, growing louder by the second.

"We need to keep moving," I say, my voice strained as I help Varikka to her feet. "The water's coming, and we can't let it catch us."

Together, we stagger onwards, our eyes fixed on the distant light at the end of the tunnel. We're running out of time, and we can't afford to be caught here.

As we round a corner, I hear a low growl echoing through the darkness. The Guardian. It's close now, and we can't let it catch up to us.

"There!" I point to a narrow ledge just above the rising water. "If we can make it there, we might be able to escape."

I turn to Varikka, my eyes meeting hers in the gloom. "Can you climb?"

She nods, her face set with determination. "I have to," she says, her voice barely audible over the roar of the water.

Together, we start to scale the wall, our hands scrabbling for purchase on the damp stone. The water is rising fast now, and we can feel the cold spray against our legs as we climb higher and higher.

And then, just as we reach the top, I hear a splash behind us. The Guardian. It's in the water now, and it's coming for us.

"Hurry!" I shout, my voice echoing off the stone walls. "We need to keep moving!"

Together, we scramble up onto the ledge, our hearts pounding in our chests as we watch the water rise below us. We're not out of danger yet, but at least we've bought ourselves a little more time.

As we catch our breath, I turn to Varikka, my eyes searching her face in the gloom. "Are you okay?" I ask, my voice soft with concern.

"I'm alive," I grunt, my voice strained from the effort of scaling the wall. But the pain in my ankle is a constant throb, a reminder of how close we came to being caught by the Guardian.

I glance down at the water below us, watching as it swirls and eddies in the darkness. The Guardian is still out there somewhere, and I know that it won't be long before it finds us again.

"We can't stay here," I say, my eyes scanning the ledge for any sign of an escape route. "The water's still rising, and the Guardian will be back soon."

Varikka nods, her face set with determination even as pain flashes across her features. "I know," she says, her voice tight with effort. "But where can we go? We're trapped in this damn tunnel, and there's no way out."

I shake my head, my heart sinking as I realize the truth of her words. We're running out of options, and time is running out fast.

"There must be something," I say, more to myself than to Varikka. "Some way out of here, some way to escape..."

But even as the words leave my mouth, I know that they're little more than wishful thinking. We're in trouble, and there's no easy way out.

I turn back to Varikka, my eyes meeting hers in the gloom. "We need to keep moving," I say firmly, my hand gripping her arm tightly as I help her to her feet. "And we need to find a way out of here, fast."

Together, we stagger onwards, our hearts racing as we search for any sign of an escape route. The water is rising all around us, and the sound of the Guardian's growl echoes through the tunnel, growing louder by the second.
