As I help Varikka up onto the small ledge, her ankle throbs in agony, but she manages a wobbly smile. "Thanks, Merrin," she says, her voice strained from exhaustion and pain. "I don't know how much longer I can hold on." The ledge is narrow and precarious, with jagged rocks jutting out in all directions. The fog swirls around us, making it impossible to see more than a few feet ahead. Suddenly, the ledge gives way beneath us, and we tumble down, landing hard on the rocky floor. The impact knocks the wind out of me, and I feel my head spin. As I struggle to catch my breath, I hear Varikka cry out in pain, her ankle twisting at an awkward angle. "Merrin!" she shouts, her voice laced with fear. The ground trembles beneath our feet, and the sound of rushing water grows louder. We're running out of time. The Guardian's roar echoes through the chamber, growing closer by the second.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I help Varikka to her feet, my heart pounding in my chest as I look around at our precarious position. The ledge is narrow and treacherous, with jagged rocks jutting out in all directions. The fog swirls around us, making it impossible to see more than a few feet ahead.

"We need to keep moving," I say, my voice strained as I scan the area for any sign of danger or potential escape routes. "The Guardian's getting closer, and we can't stay here."

I take a cautious step forward, my muscles tensing as I prepare to face whatever horrors may emerge from the shadows ahead. The sound of rushing water grows louder by the second, echoing off the walls and drowning out any other sounds. We're running out of time.

"Stay alert," I mutter under my breath, raising my crowbar in a defensive stance. "And be ready for anything."

I take another limping step forward, my heart pounding in my chest as I brace myself for whatever challenges may lie ahead.

The Guardian's roar echoes through the chamber, growing closer by the second. We have to keep moving, no matter the cost. Our lives depend on it.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

"Watch out!" I shout as Varikka's foot slips on the wet rock, her body lurching forward. She catches herself at the last moment, but the sudden movement sends a jolt of pain through her injured ankle. She grunts in agony, her face contorting into a grimace.

I reach out to steady her, my hand gripping her arm tightly. "Are you alright?" I ask, my voice laced with concern. She nods, but I can see the pain in her eyes. We're both exhausted and injured, and the rising water is making it harder to keep our footing.

"We need to find a way out of here," I say, scanning the fog-shrouded chamber for any sign of an exit. "The Guardian's getting closer, and we can't stay here much longer."

Varikka nods, her jaw set with determination. "I know," she says, her voice strained from pain and exhaustion. "But where do we go? There's no way out, and the ground's too unstable to try and climb back up."

I take a deep breath, trying to think through our options. The water is rising fast, already lapping at our ankles. We need to find higher ground, but everywhere we look, the rocks are crumbling or covered in slippery algae.

"There!" I point to a small ledge jutting out from the wall, just a few feet away. "We need to get up there before it's too late."

Varikka nods, and together we start to make our way towards the ledge, one painful step at a time.
