The chamber shudders as a massive stone slab shifts, sending rubble tumbling down around Merrin and Varika. The Guardian lunges forward, its metal claws mere inches from crushing Varikka. She grits her teeth, using the crowbar to deflect the blow and send the creature stumbling back. The ledge creaks ominously, threatening to give way at any moment. Varikka's injured ankle throbs in agony as she attempts to maintain her balance. Merrin catches her arm, holding her steady but unable to shield her from the water lapping at their boots. The Guardian quickly recovers, its unblinking hunger fixed on Varikka once more.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

My heart lurches as I see Varikka teeter on the edge of the ledge, her footing unsteady as the water laps at her boots. I lunge forward, grabbing her arm just as the Guardian's metal claws flash in the dim light, mere inches from crushing her.

With a heave, I pull Varikka back onto solid ground, but the effort sends a searing pain through my injured ankle. I grit my teeth against the agony, knowing we can't afford to stop now. The chamber groans around us, the sound of crumbling stone filling the air as debris rains down from above.

Varikka staggers to her feet, crowbar raised high as she faces down the Guardian once more. I can see the pain etched on her face, the way she favors her injured ankle with every movement. But there's a fierce determination in her eyes, a spark of defiance that matches my own.

We fight our way out or we fall trying, I mutter, my grip tightening on my weapon as I ready myself for another clash with the unnatural creature. But either way, we're not dying here.

And with that, I step forward to join Varikka, my muscles tensing as I prepare to meet the Guardian head-on. The water swirls around our feet, cold and treacherous, but I push the fear aside, focusing solely on the battle ahead. Let's see what you've got, I snarl, my voice echoing through the chamber. Come and get us.

As the Guardian lunges forward once more, I raise my weapon high, ready to strike with all the strength I have left. We fight our way out or we fall trying, I think to myself, a grim smile spreading across my face. But either way, we're not dying here.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

I grit my teeth as the Guardian lunges at us once more, its metal claws flashing in the dim light. With a grunt of effort, I raise my crowbar high, ready to meet the creature head-on.

But even as I prepare to strike, I can feel the ledge beneath my feet starting to crumble, the stone shifting ominously with every passing second. The water laps at my boots, cold and treacherous, threatening to pull me under at any moment.

Still, I don't falter. I can't. Not now, not when we're so close to finding a way out of this nightmare. Merrin is right beside me, her own weapon raised high as she stands ready to fight by my side. Together, we've come too far to give up now.

So I take a deep breath, steeling myself for the clash to come. And then, with a fierce cry, I launch myself forward, crowbar held aloft as I aim to strike at the Guardian's unnatural heart.

Let's see what you've got, I snarl, my muscles tensing as I prepare to meet the creature head-on. Come and get us.
