Round 431 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Varrika pushes through the opening, she finds herself in a narrow corridor with crumbling stone walls and a low ceiling. The air is thick with noxious gas, making it hard to breathe. Suddenly, the ground gives a loud creak beneath her, and the sound of rushing water grows louder still. The corridor begins to shake, and the Guardian's voice booms through the air: "You fools...you'll never escape!"
Merrin and Varrika exchange a worried glance as they peer into the corridor. They can see a faint light in the distance, but it's quickly obscured by a cloud of noxious gas. The ground beneath them is giving way, and they know they must move fast if they want to survive. Varikka's injured ankle throbs with pain as she struggles to stand, but she knows she can't afford to wait. She takes a deep breath, grits her teeth, and begins to crawl forward, her eyes fixed on the light in the distance.
Merrin's heart pounds as she helps Varikka through the tight opening, her eyes scanning the crumbling corridor ahead. The noxious gas burns in her lungs, and she can feel the ground trembling beneath her feet.
"Varikka, wait," she says, her voice strained. "Let me go first. I can check for traps."
Merrin takes a deep breath and begins to crawl forward, her eyes fixed on the ground ahead. She knows that they are running out of time, but she also knows that they can't afford to rush if they want to survive.
"Stay close," she calls back to Varikka. "And watch for any signs of structural instability."
As Merrin crawls forward, she can feel the ground giving way beneath her, as if the very foundations of the tunnel are beginning to collapse. She reaches out with her hands, feeling for any hidden pressure plates or tripwires that might trigger a trap.
"Careful," she warns, her voice strained. "I think I found something."
And so Merrin continues to crawl forward, her heart pounding in her chest as she prepares to face whatever challenges lie ahead. She knows that the path forward will not be easy, but she also knows that they have no choice but to keep moving if they want to survive.
"Alright," she says, turning back to Varikka with a look of determination in her eyes. "Let's see what we can find in this mess."
With that, Merrin takes another step forward, her eyes fixed on the ground ahead as she prepares to face whatever lies ahead.
