As she slumps, the hidden catch triggers once more, sending a section of the pit trap wall crashing down on the other side, showering debris into the air. The Guardian's voice echoes through the corridor, its tone dripping with malevolent glee: "You fools; you think you can escape the tower?"

I let out a sharp gasp as Varikka collapses beside me, her injured ankle giving way beneath her.
