Round 416 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Merrin's face lights up with a mix of determination and concern as she scans the larger chamber, her eyes darting from side to side. "I think I see a possible way out ahead," she says, her voice barely above a whisper. "But we need to be careful; the ground is shifting, and I can hear that sound again—water rushing through the tunnel."
Varikka winces in pain as she takes another tentative step forward, her injured ankle protesting with every movement. The air is thick with the scent of damp earth and decay, and the walls seem to close in around them, pressing down from all sides. As they move deeper into the chamber, a faint rumbling sound grows louder still, and the ground beneath them gives another ominous shudder. Suddenly, a section of the wall slides open, revealing a narrow passageway beyond. The Guardian's voice echoes through the chamber, "You fools; you think you can escape the tower? The Guardian awaits, and so does the unknown figure in the new chamber."
My heart races as I take in the ominous rumbling and shifting ground. Varikka, I hiss urgently, we need to move now! That sound... it's coming from the tunnel behind us. I grab her arm, helping support her weight as she limps forward. Easy now, I mutter, scanning the chamber ahead for any signs of danger. Keep your guard up; we don't know what's waiting for us in that passageway. The Guardian's voice echoes through the chamber, sending a chill down my spine. "You fools; you think you can escape the tower? The Guardian awaits, and so does the unknown figure in the new chamber."
I grit my teeth, my hands tightening around the hilt of my mace. I don't like this, I mutter, but we don't have a choice. We keep moving forward. As we approach the narrow passageway, I can feel the ground trembling beneath my feet, and the sound of rushing water grows louder still. Varikka, I say, my voice tight with urgency, when we go through there... stay alert. Watch our backs; I'll take point. With a deep breath, I step into the darkness beyond, my heart pounding in my chest as I prepare to face whatever lies ahead.
