Merrin's arms wrap tightly around Varikka, holding her close as they catch their breath on the cold stone floor. The air is stale and musty, filled with the scent of damp earth and decay. The narrow opening they emerged from is just large enough for them to squeeze through, but it offers little in the way of visibility or direction.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I pull Varikka into a tight embrace, my heart still racing from the adrenaline of our narrow escape. As we catch our breath on the cold stone floor, I take in our surroundings with a critical eye. The air is stale and musty, filled with the scent of damp earth and decay. But more importantly, there's no sign of any immediate threats or obstacles blocking our path forward.

I let out a shaky laugh, the sound echoing off the stone walls around us. "We did it," I whisper, hardly daring to believe it myself. "We made it out alive."

But even as I say the words, I know that our journey is far from over. The tower still looms above us, its secrets and dangers waiting to be uncovered. And with each passing moment, the weight of our quest grows heavier on my shoulders.

I turn to face Varikka, my eyes meeting hers in the dim light. "We need to keep moving," I say, my voice quiet but firm. "We don't know what lies ahead, but we can't afford to rest now. Not when we're so close to finding the Time-Splitting Sword and saving our friends."

I take a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever challenges may come. "Are you ready?" I ask, holding out my hand to help Varikka to her feet. "It's time to see where this path leads us next."

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

I take Merrin's hand, letting her help me to my feet as I wince at the pain in my twisted ankle. The adrenalin from our escape is starting to wear off, and now all I can feel is the throbbing ache in my muscles and the exhaustion weighing down my limbs.

But even though every part of me wants to collapse right here on the cold stone floor and never move again, I know that we can't afford to stop. Not when we're so close to our goal, not when the lives of our friends are hanging in the balance.

I take a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever challenges may lie ahead. "You're right," I say, nodding at Merrin's words. "We need to keep moving. But... I don't know if I can make it much further on this ankle."

I look down at my twisted leg, grimacing as I try to take a tentative step forward. "It's not broken, but it's damn close. I'm going to need help if we want to have any hope of making it out of here alive."

I meet Merrin's eyes, my gaze steady and unwavering. "So what do you say, rogue? Think you can handle being my crutch for a while?"

I try to keep my tone light, but there's an undercurrent of seriousness beneath the surface. We're both in rough shape, and I know that the real challenge is still ahead of us. But if there's one thing I've learned from fighting alongside Merrin all this time, it's that together, we can overcome anything.
