Round 410 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Merrin's voice cuts through the air, her words urgent as she pulls Varikka closer. "We need to keep moving," she says, her eyes fixed on the tunnel ahead. The ground shudders beneath their feet, and the sound of falling rocks grows louder. A fresh wave of dust fills the air, reducing visibility to mere feet. Varikka's injured ankle throbs in pain as she takes a step forward, her crowbar clutched tightly in her hand. Suddenly, the wooden bridge behind them creaks ominously, its integrity failing with each passing second.
The ground shudders beneath my feet, and I stumble forward, my hands outstretched to steady myself against the crumbling stone walls. The sound of falling rocks grows louder, filling the air with a deafening roar that drowns out all other noise. "Varikka!" I cry out, my voice barely audible over the din. "We need to move!"
I can see her struggling to keep her footing, her injured ankle clearly causing her pain with each step. But there's no time to stop and tend to her wounds now. The tunnel is coming down around us, and if we don't find a way out soon, we'll be buried alive. With a surge of adrenaline, I lunge forward, grabbing Varikka's arm and pulling her along with me as we stagger through the collapsing passage. The air is thick with dust, making it hard to see more than a few feet in front of us, but I know that we can't afford to slow down. "Keep moving!" I shout, my voice hoarse from the effort of forcing the words out over the noise of the crumbling tunnel. "Don't stop for anything!"
I can feel the ground shifting beneath my feet, and I know that at any moment, it could give way completely, sending us tumbling down into the depths below. But still we press on, our hearts pounding in our chests as we pray for a miracle. And then, just as I'm about to lose hope altogether, I see it: a narrow opening in the wall ahead, barely visible through the thick cloud of dust. It's our only chance. "Varikka!" I cry out, pointing towards the opening with a shaking hand. "There! We can make it!"
And with a final burst of speed, we stagger forward, our lungs burning and our limbs aching as we throw ourselves towards that tiny glimmer of hope.
