As Merrin and Varikka step off the collapsing bridge, they find themselves standing on a narrow ledges, the chasm below them yawning open like a bottomless pit. The wooden planks beneath their feet are splintered and wet, and the air is filled with the acrid smell of rotting wood. The sound of rushing water grows fainter, replaced by the creaking of ancient stone and the soft hiss of escaping air from the tunnel. Merrin's eyes scan the tunnel ahead, her face set in a determined expression. "We need to move," she says, her voice barely above a whisper. "The tunnel is collapsing, and we don't have much time."

Varikka nods, her injured ankle throbbing in pain, but she takes a step forward, her crowbar at the ready. The tunnel stretches out before them, dark and foreboding, with only a faint glow emanating from deeper within. Suddenly, a loud crack echoes through the passage, and the ground beneath their feet gives way, sending a section of the tunnel wall tumbling down. Merrin and Varikka are forced to scramble for cover, their hearts racing with fear as they realize they're trapped in a growing sinkhole.

As we step off the collapsing bridge, I feel my heart racing in my chest. The ledge we're standing on is narrow and treacherous, with nothing but empty space yawning beneath our feet. I can see Varikka's face pale with fear as she grips her crowbar tightly, her injured ankle throbbing with each step.

But there's no time to rest. The tunnel is collapsing around us, the sound of crumbling stone and splintering wood echoing through the passage. I can feel the ground shifting beneath my feet, and I know we have to move quickly if we want to survive.

I take a deep breath and start to make my way forward, my eyes scanning the tunnel ahead for any sign of danger. The air is thick with dust and the acrid smell of decay, and I can feel the weight of the stone pressing down on us from above.

Suddenly, a loud crack echoes through the passage, and a section of the wall to our left comes tumbling down. Varikka and I are forced to dive for cover, our hearts pounding in our chests as we watch the rubble rain down around us.

As the dust settles, I can see that the tunnel has narrowed even further, the walls closing in on either side of us like a suffocating vise. The ledge we're standing on is barely wide enough for us to stand side by side, and I can feel the ground shifting beneath my feet with each step.

But we have no choice but to keep moving forward. The alternative is to be crushed beneath the collapsing stone, or worse, to fall into the yawning chasm below. So I take a deep breath and start to make my way deeper into the tunnel, my heart pounding in my chest as I pray that we'll find some way out of this nightmare alive.
