Round 393 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Varikka's voice is barely audible over the din of the rushing water as she speaks, "We need to move now!" She grabs your arm, her eyes fixed on the small opening in the wall ahead. The water laps at your ankles, making every step a struggle against the current. With a deep breath, you begin to make your way along the ledge, Varikka close behind. As you move, the ground shudders beneath your feet, and a chunk of rubble falls from the ceiling, sending dust and debris swirling around you. The light from your torches is momentarily obscured, and for a moment, you can't see more than a few feet in front of you.
I feel the fear rising in my throat as Varikka and I cling to the narrow ledge, the water lapping at our feet and threatening to sweep us away at any moment. My heart pounds in my chest, adrenaline coursing through my veins as I try to stay focused on our one chance at survival.
I can see the terror in Varikka's eyes, mirroring my own. But there's a determination there too, a refusal to give up even as the ground shakes beneath us and the floodwaters rise higher and higher. We're both clinging to the hope that there might be something better on the other side of this madness.
As we make our way along the ledge, I can feel the weight of my soaked clothes dragging me down, making each step a struggle against the current. But we push on, driven by the desperate need to survive and the knowledge that our time is running out.
When we reach the opening in the wall, I hesitate for a moment, wondering if this could be another trap. But with the ground shaking beneath us and the water lapping at our knees, we don't have a choice. We have to take the risk.
I turn to Varikka, my voice shaking slightly but determined. "Here goes," I mutter under my breath, as I grab her hand and pull her towards the darkness ahead. Together, we dive into the unknown, praying that whatever lies ahead is better than what we're leaving behind. The sound of rushing water fades behind us as we disappear into the shadows, leaving the crumbling ledge and rising floodwaters behind for good.
