Round 391 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As the ground shudders beneath your feet, you glance up at the narrow ledge, the water lapping at its base. Varikka's hand tightens around your arm, her eyes scanning the chamber frantically for an escape route. "We need to find higher ground," she repeats, her voice barely audible over the din of the rushing water. Suddenly, a massive boulder comes crashing down from the ceiling, sending rocks and debris tumbling down into the churning waters below. The ledge creaks ominously under your combined weight, threatening to send you both tumbling into the abyss. Water splashes up onto the ledge, making it difficult to breathe. The air is thick with dust, and the sound of rushing water grows louder, more intense. Varikka's grip on your arm tightens, her eyes locked on yours. "We can't stay here," she says, her voice firm. "We have to keep moving."
My heart pounds in my chest as I look around, trying to find a way out of this nightmare. The ledge we're clinging to is crumbling beneath our feet, and the water is rising faster than ever. Varikka's grip on my arm is the only thing keeping me from falling into the churning flood below.
I can see the fear in her eyes, mirroring my own. But there's something else there too - a determination, a refusal to give up. Even with Merrin gone and our escape route blocked, she's not ready to admit defeat.
I know I should be feeling the same way. We've come too far, fought too hard to let this be the end. But as the ground shudders again beneath my feet, I can't shake the feeling that we're running out of options.
I glance around the chamber one more time, my eyes scanning the walls for any sign of a hidden passage or secret door. But all I can see is the same crumbling stone and rising floodwaters.
As the ledge creaks ominously beneath our feet, I know we can't stay here for long. We need to find a way out, and fast. And with Varikka's hand tighten on my arm, I know that whatever happens next, we'll face it together.
I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what comes next. "Alright," I say, my voice shaking slightly but determined. "We're going to have to climb."
Varikka nods, her eyes wide with fear but also with a flicker of hope. "Lead the way," she says, her voice barely audible over the din of the rushing water. And with that, we start to make our way up the crumbling wall, our hands and feet slipping on the wet stone as we try to find purchase. The water laps at our ankles, threatening to sweep us off our feet at any moment, but we push on, determined to find higher ground.
It's a struggle, every inch a battle against gravity and the relentless flood. But we don't have a choice - we have to keep moving, or else we'll be swept away for good.
I take a deep breath, trying to steady myself against the rising tide of panic. The ledge beneath our feet creaks ominously, and I can feel the water lapping at my ankles, threatening to sweep me off my feet at any moment. But I know we can't stay here. We have to keep moving, keep searching for a way out of this nightmare before it's too late. I turn to Varikka, my eyes locking with hers as I try to convey the urgency of our situation. "We need to find higher ground," I say, my voice shaking slightly but determined. "Somewhere we can wait out the flood and make a plan."
Varikka nods, her eyes scanning the chamber frantically for any sign of an escape route. But all I can see is the same crumbling stone and rising floodwaters. As the ground shudders again beneath our feet, more rocks and debris falling from the ceiling, I know we have only moments before the entire passage collapses on top of us. And with Merrin gone and Varikka injured, our options are limited. I glance around one more time, my eyes scanning the walls for any sign of a hidden passage or secret door. But all I can see is the same crumbling stone and rising floodwaters. It's now or never, I think to myself, steeling myself for what comes next. We have to keep moving, or else we'll be swept away for good.
I take a deep breath, my hand tightening around Varikka's arm as I prepare to make the climb. "Alright," I say, my voice shaking slightly but determined. "We're going to have to climb."
