Round 388 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Varikka's fists continue to strike the Guardian's chest, the creature's dark energy swirling around her, it suddenly unleashes a massive, dark tendril that shoots towards Varikka and the rogue. The water in the chamber surges violently as the Guardian's dark energy seeps into it, making it difficult for the duo to maintain their footing. Varikka barely manages to dodge the attack, but the rogue is caught off guard and stumbles backward, losing her balance. The Guardian's chest plate cracks under Varikka's blows, revealing a glimmer of dark energy beneath, and the creature's roar echoes through the chamber as it stumbles back, its dark aura spreading into the churning flood. The rogue quickly recovers and joins Varikka in pressing their attack, but the pressure is mounting as the water continues to rise faster than ever before.
I barely manage to dodge the Guardian's massive dark tendril as it lashes out at Varikka and me. The force of the attack sends me stumbling backward, my foot slipping on the slick stone floor as the water surges violently around us. I struggle to regain my balance, my heart pounding in my chest as I watch Varikka press her attack on the creature.
The Guardian's dark aura is spreading into the churning flood, making it difficult for us to maintain our footing. I can see the crack in the creature's chestplate growing larger with each of Varikka's blows, revealing a glimmer of dark energy beneath.
Taking a deep breath, I charge forward again, both daggers raised high. The Guardian lashes out with another tendril of darkness, but I manage to dodge it this time, striking at the crack in the creature's chestplate with all my might.
"Varikka!" I shout over the roaring water. "We have to stop it now! Its power is in its chest!"
I feel Varikka's presence at my side as we press our attack, our blades flashing in the dim light of the chamber. The Guardian roars in pain and fury, but we do not relent. This is our last chance. We will not fail.
The water continues to rise around us, threatening to swallow us whole, but I push that thought from my mind. Right now, all that matters is stopping this creature and saving ourselves. With a final surge of strength, I drive my dagger deep into the crack in the Guardian's chestplate, feeling it meet resistance but not relenting.
Beside me, Varikka's fists rain down on the creature, her mace cracking against its armored form again and again. The dark energy beneath the Guardian's chestplate pulses and flickers, growing brighter with each blow.
I pour all my strength into the attack, my muscles burning as I push forward, determined to end this nightmare once and for all.
I feel the impact of my mace against the Guardian's chestplate reverberate through my arms. The creature staggers back, its dark energy swirling around it frantically. But the water is rising faster than we can fight, and I can see the rogue struggling to maintain her footing.
As the rogue's dagger meets resistance in the crack of the Guardian's chestplate, I redouble my efforts, my mace striking again and again at the creature's armored form. The dark energy beneath the chestplate pulses and flickers, growing brighter with each blow.
I pour all my strength into the attack, my muscles burning as I push forward, determined to end this nightmare once and for all. But even as we press our assault on the Guardian, I can feel the water rising around my ankles, threatening to sweep us off our feet.
Beside me, the rogue is fighting with everything she has, her daggers flashing in the dim light of the chamber. But I can see the exhaustion in her movements, the strain on her face as she struggles to maintain her balance against the surging flood.
The Guardian roars in pain and fury, its tendrils lashing out wildly as it tries to fend off our attacks. But we do not relent, pressing forward with all our might.
I can feel the weight of Merrin's loss heavy on my heart, but I know that we cannot afford to mourn now. We have to stop this creature and save ourselves, or else her sacrifice will have been in vain.
With a final surge of strength, I bring my mace down on the Guardian's chestplate with all my might, feeling it crack beneath the force of the blow. The dark energy beneath flares brightly, and the creature staggers back, its defenses finally beginning to crumble.
The rogue takes advantage of the opening, driving her dagger deep into the crack in the Guardian's chestplate. I see the blade meet resistance, but she does not relent, pouring all her strength into the attack.
And then, with a final, agonized scream, the Guardian falls back, its dark energy dissipating into the churning flood. The water continues to rise around us, but for now, we are safe.
I turn to the rogue, my chest heaving with exertion, and see the exhaustion and relief in her eyes. We have won this battle, but at a terrible cost. And as the weight of our victory settles over us, I know that the hardest part is still to come.
