Round 369 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The tension in Narrow ledge above rising water with precarious footing tightens for a beat as the interruption refuses to go away. Everyone is forced to stay quiet and choose their next move carefully.
I stare at Elric, my heart pounding in my chest. The hermit's eyes seem to bore into my very soul, and I can feel the weight of his gaze upon me like a physical presence. But even as I stand there, frozen in place, my mind is racing. Shadows can be broken, but never held, I think to myself, my fingers tightening around the hilt of my mace. Is that really the right answer? Or is Elric playing some kind of trick on us? I glance over at Varikka, who is standing beside me, her own weapon at the ready. Her face is pale and drawn, but there is a fierce determination in her eyes that I recognize all too well. "What's going on here?" I ask softly, my voice barely audible over the sound of rushing water. "What does he want from us?"
Varikka shakes her head, her brow furrowed in concentration. "I don't know," she whispers back. "But whatever it is, I have a feeling we're not going to like it."
As if on cue, Elric's lips curl into a knowing smile, and he takes a step closer to us, his staff held out before him like a weapon. "You have answered correctly," he says, his voice low and ominous. "But the true test is yet to come. Are you prepared to face the trials that lie ahead?"
I swallow hard, my mouth suddenly dry. I don't know what awaits us in the depths of this tower, but I know one thing for certain: with Varikka by my side, and the promise of freedom just a few steps away, I will face whatever challenges Elric has in store for us. "Lead the way," I say, my voice steadier than I feel. "We're ready for anything you can throw at us."
And with that, we follow Elric deeper into the heart of the tower, our hearts pounding and our weapons at the ready. Whatever the future holds, we will face it together - because in this place of shadows and secrets, there is no one else I would rather have watching my back.
